I can, if the blitz is a prevailent as Sin City's campaign. If Warner doesn't saturate the target markets with ads (when Sin City came out there was an ad every commercial break on ESPN and TNT), though, it'll struggle. They need to start putting the trailer out there more as well--the last time I saw it theatrically was in front of The Departed.

If I remember correct, they played one of those new commercials during the 24 premiere. Not to mention the fact that it's still about 2 months away, and I think Warners has the media blitz ready to roll at any given moment.

The only issue is that with said media blitz, the bits in the commercials/trailers so far are the only bits that are safe for TV. I'm just hoping the general public doesn't get tired of Gerard Butler's Motorhead voice any time soon.

I don't think that non-geek audiences will tire of these promotions. We have to remember we' ve been watching these shots over and over for a while now.

I think this movie may equal if not outdo Sin City's success. People got used to a Lord of the Rings movie per year, and now they can be treated to something similar (or so they figure).

Dan's Hump-ty Dance

I have no idea why I noticed (or remembered), but this is atleast the 3rd article Dan's written, using the word "hump" (as in: to hump)...

Atleast he's mixing it up a bit with dry-humping, leg-humping, and getting humped every which way...

That first shot in the bottom trailer of them standing in the rain looked sick, right out of the GN.

I remember talking to my cousins awhile back about movies, and they are def part of that "mainstream crowd," and when I asked one of them if he saw the 300 trailer in front of the departed, his eyes lit up and he turned to his brothers and started telling them about it.

all these trailers are gonna get butts in seats for sure. $30+ million opening weekend. You heard it here first (unless you heard that somewhere else).

Saw it for the billionth time today in front of El Laberinto Del Fauno, and it still gets my blood pumping.

I do love the hump. So versatile. So descriptive. And apparently, way too overused.
