2007 NCAA Football Season - Page 12

fucking Boston College. Great come back, though
post #552 of 588
Yeah, what the hell, last I looked it was 10-0 VT with about 4 minutes to go.
I'm glad BC completed that comeback considering they should've been down 6 instead of 10. VaTech's third down TD was clearly out of bounds.

what the hell
Matt Ryan woke up and there was a successful onside kick.
Matt Ryan was absolutely fucking brilliant on those last drives, particularly the last one. And that last play... just wow.

Wow, that's surprising. I went to bed right as they started that 91-yard drive. Unbelievable.
There's already talk that last night's comeback is Ryan's ticket to the Heisman.

You only need to get one foot inbounds, and he did.
Holy shit. The officials just committed an absolutely egregious sin against Mississippi State, calling a late hit penalty on them for knocking Andre Woodson out of bounds before he could get the first down on third down. What a godawful piece of work.

edit: Kentucky missed the field goal, so nothing came of it. Man, that easily could have been one of those memorably disastrous calls.
So Mississppi State pulls it out in impressive fashion. I don't mean to sound like an SEC apologist, but this is further proof that the SEC schedule can really wear a team down.

I thought it was pretty obvious he didn't have control of the ball until he was out of bounds.
Alright, USC. It's time to not win.

edit: Excellent.
God damnit, Urban. Get Tebow out of the freaking game. He's got two more years if you pull him.. but at this rate, he's got two more months.
I wonder what bizarre explanations people are going to come up with for that retarded snap that just cost Florida the ball.
The commentators said it was possible the center thought Tebow was under center and not in the shotgun. But the coaching staff had no business getting a play in that late.

Ponder this--assuming FSU beats Duke tonight (and that's actually a stretch), FSU, Florida, and Miami will all be 5-3.
This is a bad year to be a gambler on college football. Jesus.

I am nervous about my buckeyes tonight.

Yeah, I heard that, but I'm fairly sure that if that were the case, the ball would have simply fallen out of the center's hand rather than flying through the air.

God bless the USO since I got to watch the end of the State game. So we are one win away from bowl eligibility. Looks like Croom will get to stay a little bit longer. Nice to see him turning things around finally.
What a truly bizarre sequence in this Tennessee game.
You want bizarre.....How about 15 laterals in one play.....AND THE TEAM FUCKING SCORED!!!!!!

http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/...64308&n8pe6c=1

Seriously.....I've seen some fucked up shit.....but that was some FUCKED UP SHIT.
Holy crap, two seconds left and the play takes almost a minute. That's unreal.

Nope, fuck that. I'm sick of that SEC shit, because the teams that are on path for high rankings only to get upended by a conference rival are legion each and every year.

Same old tired line falling back on "oh, the SEC is just so good they should play the AFC in the Super Bowl" bullshit. It gets old.
Hey, you're putting words in my mouth now. I never said anything about national championships or quality teams, and I purposely left that stuff out because that wasn't what I was talking about.

I'm just talking about how fucking rough it is. Just about every conference game is ridiculously high in intensity, particularly this year, and that wears on the players both physically and mentally.

And my point is this doesn't really even need to be said, because it's that way in ALL the major conferences.
Not to the same degree.
So it all comes back to...

There you go again...
So you AREN'T saying that the SEC is simply a better league with more talent that is harder-hitting and better-coached than all the other major CFB leagues?

Because on a week-to-week basis, I see good, tough, well-coached players top-to-middle in the Pac-10, Big 10, and Big XII South. Just like in the SEC.

Interesting point: 2 teams in the BCS with 3 losses, 4 teams with 3 losses in the other Top 25 rankings. All of these teams are in the SEC. No 3-loss Pac-10, Big East, Big 12, Big 10 or ACC teams. And how has Auburn worked their way back to almost in the Top 15 with 3 losses?

EDIT: Oh, and now Murderer's Row begins for FSU: @ #2 BC, @#11 Va Tech, Maryland, @ #20 UF.
Holy cow, Slate KILLS Charlie Weis, "The Worst Football Coach in the Universe"...

Ouch.

It just seems like you see more close scores in SEC games than you do in the Pac-10 or the Big-10.

Trinity lineman Josh Hooten said this about his part of that 15-lateral play:

"On these lateral plays, a lot of times there's some fat guy trying to score and he gets tackled at the 10-yard line. I didn't want to be that guy. I just hot-potatoed it and looked for someone to block."
That play is fantastic -- those things are great when they go on for 5 or 6 laterals. But 15? I've probably watched the clip 10 times.
Pitt beating ND in OT was sweet. Not the biggest Pitt fan, but I hate ND and it's always good to see em' get beat on their home turf.
Actually we didn't play Pitt in 2007, but rest assured if we had, we probably would have lost that game too.
I don't even know how the fuck this happened.
So, how 'bout that BCS?

... sons of bitches.
EDIT: Dammit, wrong NCAA thread.
