I don't like you.

I'll buy it. That pen.
1. I don't own it on DVD.
2. I could use a new pen.
1. I don't own the dvd.
2. I don't feel like shelling out 30-40 bucks for the Millennium Edition on E-bay.
3. That cover is freaking awesome, it's like box art for an old 80's vhs release.
4. Oh yeah, and that pen.

For those that missed it- http://www.creature-corner.com/?type=news&id=2110

I'm considering a double dip as well. Which is a damn shame because I only picked the Millenium Edition last year.

Phantasm is another I don't have in my collection that I'd love to see what they do with. I only wish we were getting a set like that awesome R2 one that came out a couple of years ago.
I actually found the Phantasm OOP dvd practically brand new, it even still had the security stickers on it, at a pawn shop last July. I only paid 5 dollars for it! I also had a chance in June to pick up the Millennium editon of Re-Animator for 15.99 at the Hastings near my college, but I had no idea that it was OOP already. By the time I went back to pick it up it was already gone.

This is the same thing that happened to me with The Stand. I just recently found out that it went OOP, and it's fetching north of 80 bucks, and I kick myself for always going past it at Wal-Mart, and never picking it up.

Yeah, what is up with not putting out Phantasm II.
1. Because I don't already own it.
2. Because it will give Alex false hope that I'm going to complete my "New Blood" segment.
3. Because there's a...pen...involved?
1. i don't own it...or any other movie where a severed head goes down on a hottie. and every dvd collection needs at least one of those.

It's not just any pen, it's a syringe and has green shit inside. How can anybody doubt that.
1. My copy of it is on a beat-up old VHS tape I picked up at my local rental joint for two bucks

2. I already own one of those phony syringe pens, but it's plain ol' boring red and doesn't say RE-ANIMATOR in big, bold, advertising letters.
I hope this doesn't dash too many hopes (or do I?), but according to Digital Bits it's not an ink pen but a highlighter. I actually prefer that, but I'm still not convinced it needs to be double dipped (though I'm sure I'll be buying it).

Highlighter?Man I need to sign up for some classes that require one.
It's odd - I too stumbled onto the Millenium Edition a scant few months ago, and picked it up for $14.99.

1) Because that Elite transfer is too bright sometimes.
2) Because the pen is nice.
3) Because I own it on shitty Vestron Video VHS(open matte, so you can see the floating torso when West saws through the guy in the morgue) - and it's signed by Brian Yuzna, I own the Elite LASERDISC (signed by Stuart Gordon, Dennis Paoli, and Jeffery Combs), and I own the first DVD. So why not get roped/suckered in to the quadruple dip?
4) The doc.
5) I hate you Anchor Bay.
Why didn't they include the sequels as well? I only have Bride on Laser and have yet to own numero 3.

1) I own the 10th Anniversary Laser, signed by Mr. Combs, but my laserdisc player is approaching death. Ditto the suckered sentiment.
2) I have no children to waste money on.
3) That pen kicks smass.

I think From Beyond is actually superior...
And the 3rd Re-Animator sucked too hard.

I thought it was low-brow fun.

...and the only film I know that has a fight between a rat and a re-animated penis running over the end-titles.

From Beyond is pure sex, yes, but fuck you too.
Yeah, I'm missing From Beyond. As for double/triple dips, I think I'm done with them until I change formats. After all, the HD-DVD of Re-Animator is probably coming, what, six months later?
Whatever did happen to that From Beyond remastered uncut DVD? I remember reading about it, and then nothing.
Not to brag or anything (ahem)... but I just got this in the mail. Pretty nice set, but I have no idea why the case is so goddamn big. It's the size of two dvd cases, even though both discs are in one. The highlighter doesn't take up that much room, dammit. The actual dvd art is the old poster without the tagline.

Going to try to do a screencap comparison to show the difference between this and the Elite disc, and of course, let you know how that Resurrectus doc is. Can't wait.

If it gets a UK release, I'll buy it because of that.

I'll buy it cause I'm a sucker for behind-the-scenes documentaries. And I'm sucker for the words, "Limited Edition."

Fixed.

(Yeah, I bought it too. It's a great transfer, one I don't think I even want to see gussied up in HD, and the doc is pretty great. Plus: pen.)
