Selling DVDs Early

I know plenty of retailers sell DVDs before the street date, but when it's an evil coporation like Walmart, well, I kinda wanna see if I can get them fined. The particular DVD is Infamous, which I think comes out in a couple weeks. Is there anything I can do? Anyone know the penalty?

I didn't think to do a search for Walmart selling DVDs early. That said, that thread doesn't really answer my question. As I acknowledged, I know it happens, and I know they're not doing it on purpose- but since it's a corporation I despise I thought somebody might know the proper procedure for reporting them anyway.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know they're selling it and what the release date is?

Street date is February 13.

Nothing will be done to Wal Mart. Warner refused to sell further copies of Return of the King to Internation retailer EB because they broke street date, refused to pull it from the shelves and refused to even speak to them about it. No one will hold any copies back from Wal Mart.

Signs was released early, breaking street date. I asked the people where i bought it at (Warehouse Music) and they said Blockbuster broke street date and that meant it was fair game. They told me only Blockbuster could face penalties, because they broke it first.

I say, spread the word to video retailers and they can sell it too. If nothing else, it would give Wal Mart competition, since breaking street date is just a way to monopolize the purchasing of it for a little while.

Since i also hate wal-mart, this thing has got me thinkning. Hmm..if i had to do something, i would get in touch with customer services of respective studios of the movies being sold early. Then again, it may not be proper procedure, and nothing will probably be done about it by the studio.

My local Wal-Mart had "Tideland" on the shelves Tuesday.
