Picked this up recently and watched it on Sunday.Solid old school mystery movie.I love Branagh and Thompson's convincing American accents (really),I love Robin Williams being grumpy, and I love Wayne Knight's whistling speech impetiment.Worth a look.

Yes a very solid thriller. I'm a sucker for a good Derek Jacobi performance as well and he delivers here.

And the score is phenomenal. One of the best I've ever heard in fact.

I thought this movie was criminally ignored on its release, and it still hasn't had that cult resurrection that some of its brethren have received. It has a nice, original story hook, and a great Hitchcock-homage style. It has a proud place in my DVD collection. And I've had to tell a lot of browsing friends what it is.

Thats strange because I remember when it came out it hit number 1 at the box office during its theaterical run and was quite successful.

In fact its always been kind of a mystery to me how Brannagh faded away* and didn't have as big a hit afterwards.

*Ignoring his Shakespeare work and including The Gingerbread Man thanks Robert Altman!

It spent its first two weeks in wide release at #1, but it only grossed around $38 million total, which is odd considering there was no monster hit that opened to knock it down. I guess it just glommed off of Brannagh's Henry V success for a few weeks and then the interest died.

I think it's a great film too, unabashedly embracing its thriller/noir heritage and running with it.

I too have always had a soft-spot for this movie. It was just nice to see something classy and different to what was being slopped around at the time. And it was really the first time for me to see Derek Jacobi in something (I was a bit too young for I, Claudius). And any movie that can bring Derek Jacobi to a film-lovers attention deserves a bit of love.

I really loved Robin Williams in this. But honourable mention to Andy Garcia's Grey Baker and his cigarettes too.

I really enjoy this film, Robin Williams' hard-edged shelf stacker/ex-shrink was a treat. It has a really neat premise to it.

It's been a long time since I saw this, need to rectify that.

I do remember a few things about it... a nice almost giallo vibe, some dude with one of those cancerous smoke hole thingies like in the videos they show you at school to stop you smoking, plus Branagh's flawless American accent. I'm a real connoisseur of accents and no matter how good the actor, a bad accent job is going to take me right out of the movie. Non Americans tend to have a really hard time with it but I'm remembering that Branagh does a great, if generic, one.

I've seen it, wanted to like it, but it really just didn't make much of an impression on me. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood, because I usually love Branagh's work.

You don't remember Emma's?That one stood out to me for some reason...
and I forgot, but did Branagh have an American accent in Celebrity?

I liked this movie too. The over the top ending is probably funnier than intended though.

I don't. as I say, I need to see this one again soon. I know I liked it more than Branagh's Frankenstein.
