First off: Yes, I saw it.
The film for those of you not familiar with the entire back wall of blockbuster or those of you not into John Heard fan fic, the Guardian is the story of the brave men and women(an) of the Rescue Swimmers of the U.S. Coast Guard. It stars Kevin Costner (Open Range) and Ashton Kutcher (Demi Moore).
This film you might expect to be a by-the-books, low-quality action movie made solely to pad the accounts of all involved (except of course the Best Boy Grip who does it for the art.) You would be right. No surprises here folks. This movie is aggressively mediocre and strives to rip off every contrivance that has come before it. The elevator music of film.
The only bright spot was seeing Dule Hill (from Psych) as Ken Weatherly.
K-Cost should stay away from water themed movies - "I am looking at you Message in a Bottle. Yes, you too Waterworld, but that's obvious."
