Starwars TV - Animated 3D series - Page 3

I'm tired of the damn Jedi and all their dreary mumbo jumbo about the force. Give me a good blaster shootout any day. I want to see Han, Chewie, and Lando raising hell across the galaxy.

The Jedi work only when we see them in their full-on glory (not all mopey and uppity like the prequels) or on the run from the Empire. That's what ruined Star Wars Galaxies for me-- if you're role-playing during the Rebellion, there should be three fucking Jedi and that's it.

There's so much mileage to be gotten out of other aspects of the franchise that getting All Clone Wars All the Time is getting old. Hell, the best EU stuff is still Brian Daley's Han Solo novels, and not a Jedi in sight.

Y'know, I think back to the world before the prequels, and how pretty much every Star Wars fan was chomping at the bit to see the mysterious "Clone Wars" depicted. Here we are, ten years later, and any mention of further Clone Wars stories brings about head-shaking and sighs. Such is the price of disappointment.
That's because I thought we were getting a brand new story, instead of turning everything in on itself.
Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you--I'm in the same boat, actually. I want to see something else come out of this galaxy--it's supposed to be a big place, and if it's supposed to be a great big serial why don't we go to new places?

I just find it depressingly amusing that the one story we couldn't wait to see play out is now the same one we can't wait to get away from.

I have nothing against the 3D-clone wars since I have yet see a full episode but I do hope this is the last onscreen story-telling of this time period. I would rathur see Darth Vader wreck shit all across the galaxy and the formation of the rebel allience. Three years removed from the prequels, the biggist mistake is not covering the period of time from ROTS to ANH. That 20 or so years is ripe with good stories that could be told.

That's exactly what the live action series is going to cover, apparently.

I will wait and see to make a judgement, but this series is suppose to cover the two years of war right before Episode III. Not sure what I think of the rendered interpretations, but I will take a look at a full episode before denouncing it.

I agree though, hopefully this will be the last story told on the topic.

Yes, the Live-action series has been set to take place between 3-4. So much story, excited indeed.

Well that is great news.

I think there's still more stories to tell on this period, and if we have a live action series covering III-IV then that's all that is needed. I think I agree now with people saying post ROTJ is pointless. The only other time period is way before the prequels, when there were more than only 2 Sith running around.

No no. Someone here had a valid point about Skywalkers up and coming Jedi stories. How does him slowly becoming a jedi over ten years not interest people?
I thought the best thing about Cartoon Network's Clone Wars was Anakin being accepted into the Jedi Order by Yoda. I look forward to many years of CGI Jedi. Thank You CHUD people for my birthday E-mail, I will keep it close to the heart of my computers Hard Drive.

I don't know if anyone caught Conan O'Brian back in the beginning of May when he was in San Francisco. He had George Lucas as a guest and they talked a little about the 3-D animated Clone Wars cartoon series.

The major thing that Lucas said about it was that it was "Rated PG-13" and that he had no idea who's gonna air it, or what time it would air.

I would imagine something like that would be perfect for Adult Swim or Fox.

He didn't talk about the live-action series.

Not what you are talking about, but amusing nonetheless.

I'm curious if anyone is watching this on Cartoon Network. It's actually entertaining - I dig the throwback announcer at the beginning, and while most of the droids dialogue is pretty lame, I get that the series is for kids.

One of the previous episodes had people getting killed in a pretty horrific way. A machine would crack open the protective glass on a spaceship, and the humans inside would get sucked out into the vacuum of space. Definitely something that would have been interesting to see in the prequels...

Even a bit from the last episode got a good laugh out of me - the bit where the droids tried to keep up with Kenobi & Grievous by jumping onto the platform. Two fell to their deaths, and one got creamed by an oncoming train. Something about the electronic screaming hit my funnybone, I guess.

At this point, it's something fun to check out on the DVR after a Friday night of drinking. Still not quite as fun as the 2D series, but the next episode looks like it could be an entertaining departure since it seems to not feature any jedis.

I thought I was pretty much done with SW, but this has been alright so far.

I have to admit that I like these episodes A LOT more than the actual prequels. Not that it says a lot. I agree with the droids, they are awful!

That episode with the droids hunting down every last escape pod and killing clones was pretty brutal, 80s GI Joe this isn't at all.

So are they still doing the live action series?

The Ventress episode was real good. The way Yoda totally outclassed her. This Animated series is surprisingly good.

Some nice Obi Wan action yesterday. The calm way he decimates those destroyer droids really shows his Jedi Master status.

That's tentatively scheduled to premiere in 2010...according to what I've read elsewhere.

As for this show, it's pretty damn entertaining. I love the fact Anakin has his own ship ala the Falcon, it's a nice little touch. One of my favorite moments in this week's episode was when Grievous leaped down to the platform and greeted Obi-Wan with a casual "Hello there."

I find Star Wars: The Clone Wars to be very enjoyable. I do agree the new series is much better than The Phantom Menace but not as good as either Revenge Of The Sith or Attack Of The Clones.

That's exactly why I came looking for this thread. My son, 7, and I laughed quite a bit from that, and rewound that scene about 10 times. Also, Obi-Wan force lifting Threepio who gets rammed by the train: the metal clang sound was spot-on.

Overall, the sseries has been really good, and great for me and my kids to watch. New Star Wars that is appropriate for all. I find it funny that the melodrama with Anakin in AotC is non-existent in the happy, confident Jedi portrayed in the cartooon. Also, the fact that this, the earlier Clone Wars series, and the new live-action one showcase the most interesting parts of the prequel world show that we got the shaft in the PT. This was the stuff I wanted to see (including a better reason/depiction of The Turn.)

Watching the last episode right now and it's pretty good. I like the new commando droids!
I tried watching this show, and I just couldn't get through an entire episode. I'm glad some people are enjoying it, but damn I thought it was horrible. Ugh!

And their Darth Vader-like voices. My son and I will watch an episode, and then he'll want to watch it again.

I understand him. Had this been a show in my childhood I would have been watching that shit on repeat all day long (that's if VCR had been invented back then).

God help me, I'm actually liking how stupid the droids are. I fully believe the creators of the show realize how lame they are, and don't mind showing it. Their last line cracked me up.

"Do we take prisoners?"
