It loses steam pretty fast, but I liked it. Then again, I don't mind that genre of music nearly as much as some people, and I'm an easy target for well-done, catchy pop-culture homages. And the "Yippiee Kay-Yaaaayyy, motherfucker" refrain is pretty catchy.

I had been looking for this for a while now when I was showing a friend of mine various things on Youtube. In fact, I think Molt first showed this to us a while ago.

Nah, someone else posted it in the "DIE HARD questions" thread. My big thing to link to is the Al Powell/"Family Matters" crossover. That's how I spread DIE HARD joy.

I like the "yippie, kai, ay" part but the greatest Die Hard video ever is still this one.

I think the song itself is balls, but the lyrics are gold. If only someone would make a blues-song from them.

The lyrics are what make the song work, though -- they're so fratboy power-punk-y. I mean, "But it was sweet when they killed Ellis/And with a little help from Allen/John McClane kicked ass"? That's typical of songs like those.

But yeah a blues/folk style version of this would be equally funny. Also a college acapella version (I've seen one of the 'Snakes on a Plane' song that's pretty good.)
