That's pretty fucking cool. I still haven't gotten around to getting the Street Trash DVD, fucking unemployment.

So, was your e-mail what actually got the two to get together and actually got the ball rolling? From the interview it seems like Muro had already been seeking funding to try and get the film going and Frumkes just jumped on board in the last couple of days.

Why do I get a Larry Flynt continuing to publish Hustler during his short stint as a religious convert vibe from that? Could Street Trash 2 reach new unintentional heights of "fucked up" by Muro trying to inject a religious and moral subtext into his melting bum sequel?

Roy hadn't heard about the Street Trash 2 site or talked to Muro in a while when I contacted him. He'd heard rumors about the investors, but hadn't actually sat down and had a talk with the man. I can't claim credit for getting the two together but I'd like to think I helped set the ball in motion.

Let me echo Devin's thoughts and just say that whoever hasn't experienced this movie really has to.... if you consider yourself any bit of a fan of cinema. There's no excuse now with that amazing dvd out.

Good stuff, Alex.

I echo your sentiment about seeing this movie also. I haven't seen it since the 80's- but that is going to be soon remedied.

I have the excuse that it's unavailable in the UK. Again.

But yes- there are one or two other sequals that have come out that long after the original (this year's Third Mother, for instance), but it's still entertainingly unusualy.

He'll be in Philly this month at a Street Trash screening. I'll be there, but I must admit my interest is more towards his Romero documentary he'll also be presenting.

Wow, that screening sounds amazing. You should also check out that Head Trauma one with the alternate soundtrack, it's an interesting project.

It's been said before in the thread about Devin's interview with Frumkes, but he really is a cool, down to earth guy. He really sounds excited about this, and man, it's infectious.

Street Trash doesn't need a sequel. Period.

Ice cream doesn't need caramel sauce, either. But it's sure nice to get it once in awhile.
