The ND game was super sloppy.

I bet if you had told Long Beach State two days ago that they'd score 84 points in their first round game, they'd be making plans for the second round. Instead, they're losing by thirty.
This Tennessee score is insane. This is Suns/Mavs territory here.

I picked them in one of my brackets. Unfortunately the one that doesn't pay back any money...
In the last five minutes Wisconsin has either hit a three or gotten fouled on every possession. And on the other end, CC can't hit a shot, but get fouled almost as much, but they can't hit the free throws. The refs aree ruining this game by simply calling way too many fouls.

Who's your champ? I spent enitrely too much time filling my bracket out last year. This year I just sat down and ran through it in about five minutes just to see who came out on top. I got Texas. Durant intimidates me as if I was playing.

I'd love to sit down with copious amounts of nachos and beer and watch the tourney until my eyes go buggy.

Unfortunately, the demon of employ beckons to me on Thursday and Friday. And I have a job where you can't really slack or it bites you in the ass.

I've got them making the Final Four along with Florida, Wisconsin, and Memphis, but I have Florida winning it all.

Did you guys fucking see Tennessee today? They looked like the Globe Trotters. When that Volunteer squad shows up there unbeatable. Lofton pulling up from damn near mid-court and making'em.

Florida and Wisconsin are in the same bracket. UCLA maybe? If so, that's the same as my four and I have Florida losing in the championship.

Bruce Pearl is a fun guy, maybe they'll bust out the bucket of confetti in the second round.
Hmmm, my main pool I went 25/32, lost one of my Sweet Sixteen, no one past the round of 8.

Of course, given my history, my brackets will be in the shitter by Sunday afternoon.

We're two days in - once again, the fucking acceleration of expectation gets rolling FAR too early.

Salukis drop the Hokies, Rebs knock out Bucky, Winthrop sneaks by the Ducks, and VCU slips past Pitt (two of these I would be willing to make modest wagers on), and everyone is back to jerking off on their bracket sheets.
Damn. After winning my usual pick 'em pool the last two years, the lw of averages is really biting me in the ass. In the 5-12, 6-11, 7-10 and 8-9 seeded games I went 5 and fucking 11, and lost one sweet 16 team. Of course I pick a bunch of upsets in the year there were hardly any. I must have been high picking Albany.

Eh, my bad, I meant Kansas.
24-8 after the first round, and my Elite 8 and Final 4 are still intact. Only missed one game in the South Region, and it was a doozy--Albany and UVA.
24-8 here too. But I lost a Final Four team/
post #71 of 120
Ohio State is my pick to win the whole thing. They just about gave me a heart attack today. And they look better without Oden on the floor.
It's killing me that Raftery is so obviously rooting for Florida right now. If I want that kind of commentary, I'll listen to the Purdue or Florida radio networks and turn the sound on my TV off.
I have to give it up to the Big 10. They started strong in the first round and are being very respectable agains the #1's. I gave them no shot at doing anything.

I really need Texas A&M and Georgtown to come through.
Vandy is killing me. I've lost 1 Elite 8 team so far in Wisconsin, but my Final 4 is still intact. I also need A&M and Georgetown to keep it up. I'm worried about OSU and Tenn., though. If OSU can't turn it on a bit better, Tennessee will run right through them, the way they've been playing in the tourney. 10-3 so far this round.
Way to piss on my bracket, Texas. At least UF got it in gear. And was there anyone at all who was picking Wisconsin to do anything?
The only one seed I have in the Final Four is Kansas, because Florida doesn't care enough, Ohio State is very obviously vulnerable, and Georgetown is just plain better than UNC. And Kansas is hot and pissed off.

I was actually close to being brilliant yesterday because I had Xavier over OSU and VCU over Pitt. I also have a Butler win over Florida. And I had Vandy winnign as well.
I had some huge bombs today, though. I picked a Ga. Tech\Winthrop matchup next week.

What's amazing is that even with my only getting half the sweet sixteen, All my Final Four picks are still there.

Carolina has the most talent in the country, even more so then Florida. Georgetown are just plain better? I don't think so!
That pretty much does it for my bracket. Texas goes down with out even a fight. Well, now I can just sit back and enjoy the games without worrying about picks.
only 10/16 left with only Texas killing my Elite 8 bracket.
my 8-Oregon, Fla, S. Ill, UCLA, Texas, Georgetown, OSU, Texas A&M. Still hope.

Though Kansas is looking real good.
I went 11/16 - not superb, but my Elite 8 suffered no losses.

Well, it went this way for a couple reasons. Pessimism gets the better of me and the Badgers usually do better than what I predict. So when UWMadison beat Ohio State early in the season I thought to myself, "If they're ranked #3 or higher, I'll pick 'em to go all the way." Not to mention, Bo Ryan's squads are (were) undefeated as the higher seed, having never been upset in the tourney.

Coming out of Selection Sunday as a No. 2, I liked my chances especially because Big 10 teams have fared well in the Dance for the past several years. At worst, I thought, they would get to the Elite 8 and lose as expected to Florida. I could take that level of defeat.

But NO. Those stupid fuckers go down by 16 pts in Rd 1! To fucking Corpus Christi!!! Sure they came back, but what a goddamn sign of things to come. While my girlfriend loses 4 matchups, none of which include a Sweet 16 pick, in the first 2 rounds.

Fuck Wisconsin and their shitty fucking 1st halves. Fuck them and their white boys that foul out with 16 min. left to go in the game. Fuck Bo Ryan and his red blazer, and fuck UNLV.

There. Back to the NFL offseason.

I'm not talking about talent, I'm talking about which is better. UNC just has more weak spots than Georgetown. And Psycho T is going to get his ass handed to him by Hibbert.
If having more talent, having more depth, having better offensive players, having a better defense, having better rebounders and having a better coach means more weak spots then I suppose you're right.
Damnit, that's the last time I trust the state of Texas on anything related to basketball.
A bit off topic, but how about McRoberts going pro? I'm not sure what's worse: His decision to leave when it's obvious he has SO MUCH to improve on or the the fact that someone it that Godforsaking league will pay him to play.
Ohio State down 20, then takes a 4 point lead. This team is going to kill me before this tournament is over.
And the Buckeyes win by 1. Amazing.
I feel like someone punched me in the balls.

What a fucking shitty game.
Not that it would have mattered, but did anyone see a reasonable explanation why they took 1.1 seconds off the clock before that final shot by Texas A&M?
Terrible no call. So unfortunate for Vandy.

the ball was tipped and it hit inbounds and then bounced into the stands. The announcers were acting like it was tipped and hit the line which it did not.
The announcers actually talked later about how they were wrong at the time. I was glad they did because it was pissing me off that they couldn't see what happened.
They only showed the replay 50 thousand times. I can see missing it the first 2, but jeez. I flipped after the game so I missed their mea culpa.
Florida really needs to stop this sleepwalking act they pull at the start of every game. They're gonna roll into another 1 or a 2 seed that will bury them beyond any hope of a comeback.
Watching KU fumble the ball on every drive as UCLA just...never...stopped making ridiculous shots was the most distressing thing I've experienced in months.
Speaking to the intelligence of college athletes...Joey Dorsey says that Oden is overrated and that HE'S Goliath and Oden is David. Well, I guess you're right, Joey, cause guess who won that Bibical battle?

To their discredit, they didn't say it until the next game they were calling.
This is the first time I've ever got All 4 teams in the final four.

Of course I have UCLA winning the whole thing (if that happens I win the pool).
Wow, I got one team in. Two of them (Butler, Texas A&M) lost in the Sweet 16 and one (Kansas) lost Saturday. All I've got left is Georgetown.
