I haven't heard much about it here.I wasn't looking forward to it but I had friends who hated Saw as much as me who DO want to.The problem is,if they're not screening it for the critics,I will be unhappy.

One of the worst films ever made. IN HISTORY.

Makes the "Saw" movies look like the collected works of Chaucer.

Sounds like it sucks.

Dead Silence was actually a working title for Tremors, which is a far better movie. Hell, I think I'm gonna go buy Tremors tomorrow. I don't know why I don't own Tremors in the first place.

Dude, that is definitely a note to make for me too.I always ask myself why I don't own Tremors (or Gremlins).I go to Borders or Best Buy,or on a good day:Amoeba, and I draw a blank.

Tremors II is the whole reason I know what a rail gun is; it definitely deserves props.

^ Only straight to video movie I ever watched/liked.

I haven't seen it yet, but it didn't look too bad. I had no interest until I saw the trailer... I probably won't see it though.

Extremely pedestrian. It takes a lot of work to drain creepy dummies of any sort of menace by the 20-minute point, but they manage to do it.

That's a shame. I thought Mary Shaw looked pretty creepy, and it seemed to have potential.

I didn't think it was THAT bad. It was more spooky than scary, and it was certainly not gory. It had way to many "convienient coincidence" moments of timing, plus Donnie Wahlberg shaved too much (don't ask). But it did have a couple tense moments. I did see it with a big Saturday night crowd, which always helps with a horror or Comedy flick.

I will say, though, the last twist was wwwaaayyy over the top.

Never saw it. I learned what a rail gun is from the Rifts RPG. Which is also where I got my screen name, BTW. Iggy was a rail gun toting 'Borg. Ah, nostalgia. Pops up in the unlikeliest places. . . .

I thoght this was a pretty stupid concept when I 1st read about it here (sorry, but scary puppets have never really done it for me, except the Zuni fetish doll from "Trilogy of Terror"; gave me nightmares for years as a kid), but the radio trailers got the gore hound in me interested, b/c I thought there might be some cool tongue-rippin'-out scenes. To find out even THAT'S not to be had. . . I WAS gonna save it for a DVD rental in a few months, now I may not even do that.

And completely cribbed from a Robert Bloch story.
