Carnosaur Films

Anybody seen Corman's Carnosaur films? I'm not sure I'm really advocating them, but I just can't believe how much Carnosaur 2 steals from Aliens... I mean it's nearly scene for scene with dinosaurs instead of xenomorphs... I guess that's why I have a soft spot for it, and I remember the old TV ads for Carnosaur... something akin to how God created the world in 7 days then dinosaurs ate everybody or some ridiculous thing like that.

As a huge fan of dinosaurs in general as a youth i of course loved Jurassic Park near to death, the first Carnosaur came out roughly within a similar time frame, needless to say as a low budget cash in. I avoided it due to this for many years, though upon finally watching i found a lot to love, its silly, over the top and gory. The second one wasn't quite as good but a fun time nontheless, the third i barely remember but it seems it was best avoided. I guess this isn't much information of interest, but if your looking for some validation on this i'll definetely second this.

My favorite line from the Amazon synopsis "Her objective: to destroy humankind in favour of her new strain of prehistoric dinosaurs.", glorious! Must revisit this.

3. No such luck locating a video that wasn't the second one miss labeled.

WOW. I've always thought Carnosaur was a movie about a guy that possesses an animatronic T-Rex. I saw it on TV when I was younger and I could have sworn it was called Carnosaur. I think towards the end his brain gets put in a jar and his girlfriend strips for him or something.

Anyway, you've got me interested in the real Carnosaur. I will have to pick it up next time I rent a movie.

Yeah, I definitely think the third is the worst unless you include Raptor, which I don't. I can't believe that film even exists... reusing scenes is just so low.

I like the first Carnosaur's dark ending... and I remember the scene where the cop gets attacked by a raptor. I actually enjoyed that part. The premise is so absolutely ridiculous... women birthing dinosaur eggs. Makes me wonder how the film even got made, but that's Roger Corman for you...
