Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings

I wish I were creating a thread announcing info. on Radiohead's new album, but this ignored gem is keeping me occupied until that imminent time.

Worth buying just for 'True Love Waits'. The nakedness of an acoustic guitar seems to have become almost a cliche during these modern times, but I'd be enamored if the band incorporated more acoustic lines on their next studio disc, ala this tune. Knowing Radiohead, they'll end up completely revamping their sound, puzzling me, and then winning me over eventually....years down the road. I guess that's the cycle of musical pioneers.

I think the live version of Like Spinning Plates is the best track on the album. I would love to see Radiohead live; must be spine-tinglingly electric.

EDIT: I hate the stupid crowd cheering and hollering in the background, let the fucker sing in peace damnit. I read about bands being taken back by how quiet Asian audiences tend to be, they should be thankful!

True Love Waits is an extremely beautiful song and I'm glad it was never on any of the studio albums because it works so fucking well as a live acoustic number without any additional insturmentation.

That's the truth. I saw them in Berkeley about a year ago. Spine-tingling, indeed. The new material was amazing, the weather was gorgeous, Johnny Greenwood played his guitar with a bow, and the crowd had all the charm of my dog humping an electric socket. "Wooooooooooooo!" probably means less than dick to any semi-successful touring band but there's always that one asshole and, sure enough, guy lets it rip at the beginning of "Exit Music for Film" which is just about the worst song to "Wooooooooooooooo!" to. Thom skipped a lyric or two to honor the bastard.

Who are these people?

For a birthday gift, a friend made me a mix CD of rare Radiohead outtakes and B-sides, and it had a far superior version of "True Love Waits" that was still live but had some light synth stuff that was quite lovely, and, as such, I prefer it to the album version. I should post it here sometime.

The band has been kicking "True Love Waits" around for so long now that a studio version would almost certainly be a disappointment compared to its live counterpart. I have to agree with KABONG, the version that incorporates synths is a superior version and worth tracking down.
I also had the pleasure of seeing them at Berkeley last summer. "Videotape" stood out among the new material, all of which was fantastic, as an incredibly beautiful song. The new album can't come fast enough.
