Ketchum Curiosity

I just finished "Off Season", and I liked it a lot. Loved "The Girl Next Door", too. I have the short story collection "Peacable Kingdom", which will probably be the next Ketchum I read. And I'll probably get the mass market paperback of "Offspring" when it comes out in May. But I wanted to know, since I haven't heard anyone mention it yere yet, if anyone's read anything else of his? I'm particularly interested in hearing if "She Wakes" was any good; seems like a really interesting premise. Thankks for your input.

that short story collection you mention is pretty great.

he's got a lot of stuff on small press limited runs, I'd like to read it but I'm not going to pay those kind of prices to read it, sooner or later it will probably be reprinted more accessibly

RED is very good.

I recently finished "RED". I didn't care much for it, the whole thing just seemed a little far-fetched to me and I am a huge animal lover.

My thoughts exactly. There's a lot of really interesting looking stuff on Shocklines.com, but it is really overpriced. I can't justify spending that kind of money on a few paperbacks. I also hope they're reprinted somewhere. What I can't figure out is this: his most famous books were all originally published in the early 80's. Why is a big deal just now being made over them?

Red is good, as well as The Lost, Right to Life and Stranglehold. The only other piece I've read of Ketchum's (aside from Off Season and TGND) was Hide & Seak. It's not great, but it's not terrible either.

Glad to hear Offspring is coming to paperback. I didn't even know it had finally been released as a Lmtd. Ed. hardcover. I'd been waiting on that release for a couple of years before I finally gave up.

Just got a copy of Old Flames, Ketchum's first mass market novel in 7 years. Fucking hells yes. Glad to see this guy finally getting recognition.

Sorry though, guys... it's not coming out till June.
