Show of the summer?

God. Damn.

It's friggin' 83 bucks for the Randall's Island show (without the "convenience fee"), but I think I'm going to try and get tickets.

(edit... course, as soon as I post this I see that it's been discussed in the Rage thread. But shit, I'm not even that excited about seeing them... I'd go just for JMT, Immortal Technique and Sage Francis.)

Holy shit, that's a great show.
Whatever. I've got my Genesis tickets, suckers!
Holy fucking shit. I must be there.

edit: Does Hieroglyphics include Del tha Funke Homo Spaien, or are they just the crew he rolls with?
Arctic Monkeys. May 4th. The Commodore in Vancouver. Hell. Yeah.
Shit, all that needs is a return of KRS-One and it's the best show ever.
Del is part of Hieroglyphics. I caught Rock the Bells last summer, the bill for that show was great, but this one is amazing. I just wish I was in San Fran again this summer so I could catch it. Last time Dave Chappelle showed up for a small cameo during Talib Kweli/Mos Def set. The crowd went absolutely apeshit, more so than for any group that performed. Maybe he'll show up again this year.

Without a fucking doubt.

Well, as I've already seen DOWN, MEGADETH and BLACK SABBATH (Dio Era) on March 11th, it's going to be pretty damn hard to top that.
Alls I know is that, that show is going to reek of the worst pot stench since the 60s

No. That would be the PHISH reunion tour.
The asterisk'ed artists are select cities only, but I can't find anywhere on the site that says what cities those are.
i might have to take a joint for the cypress hill set.

i'll be there in san fran for sure.
I'll be there in New York, for sure.
i hope against hope that mf doom will be in san fran...

i remember when i first saw the bill i scanned through the whole thing, very impressed, and then got to the end and saw public enemy. god damn i'm getting excited just thinking about it.

I just realized that the NYC show is the same weekend as Comic-Con. Damn! Dilemma...
Fuck yeah .. this is a great afternoon other than the fact the it's on Randall's Island ...

I'm also sort of interested in the Slayer/Marilyn Manson tour. Not really familiar with MM's stuff, but if they get a band like Mastodon to support it could be a good time.

I'm not a huge fan of Manson, but I appreciate his music- and his stage shows are some of the best around. I saw him at Ozzfest one year when he used a girl's asshole as a microphone stand. (Yeah, it was in there.)

I'd be more excited about that show but I've seen Slayer a billion times, and while they're always consistant it is always the same ol' same ol'.
Remember when a new Slayer album was a cause for excitement? The last great album was SEASONS IN THE ABYSS, Now they're touring with Manson? Give me a fucking break. Let's hear it for $$$$$$$$$$$$$LAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYEEEEEERRRRRRRR!

You're priceless, Baba.
It's confirmed, I'm taking a road trip this summer to see the NYC show.
Randall's Island is among the worst venues in history for old people like me. When I was a kid I was willing to put up with the nastiness and the crowds of meatheads and the expensive water and the shitty sound system and fight my way to the front of the stage, but no more. I won't see a show in a stadium or an arena or a big festival anymore.
Dutifully noted, but I'm so hyped about this show that nothing can discourage me.
What are you, 12? You'll be fine.

Last time I saw Rage was at Randall's Island. I ended up with my face caked in dirt broken only by the blood pouring out of my nose.

I like the place, but then again the last time I've been there in the last 6 years or so was for the Curiosa fest. I felt like such a tough guy there.

I was at a Warped Tour back in the day where they ran out of water. Like 100 degrees outside too. That was fun. Everyone was lined up at the Yoo Hoo truck that was giving out free samples.

i'm not encouraged by the fact that the sf show is in a parking lot.

i saw rage at the protest outside staples center. fortunately i avoided getting hit, but i certainly didn't try to 'fight my way to the stage'. that sounds like a death wish at a rage concert.
I got tickets. Will I be seeing any of you there?

The words Randall's Island and convenience should never, ever be in the same sentence. For those who have never been there, have fun getting out of that parking lot after the show.
ill be there, hell yeah
just saw krs-one last night by the way, great show, although i only stuck around for 2 songs before my buddy got kicked out for getting too drunk.
Rage killed in SF, fucking amazing night.

I was praying I would hear Pistol Grip Pump and New Millennium Homes, but I should have known there was no way in hell... oh well, awesome show nonetheless.
Oh man, this was the worst diaster ever for me. It's a long story that involves me being a total fuck-up and everyone justified in their hatred of me. After me and my friend took an assraping paying for our tickets second hand, I lost mine and we didn't go.

I later found it in a pants pocket.

It hurts just thinking about it. Goddamn.
You haven't told them that you found it yet, have you? I think that is one of those things I'd keep to myself.
I told him a bird stole it. A big purple and yellow bird. With fangs.
