Did Anyone Else Buy Any of the After Dark Films?

I just got off Amazon and bought 'Wicked Little Things" and "Penny Dreadful" from the After Dark Films Horrorfest last year. None of these movies is destined to become a classic, but the 2 I bought were, IMO, the best of the bunch, and pretty good. plus, there's the nostalgia value. Seeing all 8 films in that marathon film festival with my brother on the weekend my birthday fell was great fun, and I'll always remember it fondly.

Anyone else buy any? Which ones?

Had some in my hands today at Best Buy and decided to rent them via Netflix.

Considering the overall questionable levels of quality, probably a good idea. If you do like any enough to buy 'em, I'm really curious what you, especially, would buy.

I bought Reincarnation (because I'm a huge Shimizu fan) and Wicked Little Things (because the new Laurie Strode is in it).

Man, After Dark gets released on DVD, why can't the cinematic masterpieces that are the Sci Fi original movies get their own time on the shelves?

But, on a more serious note, the Shimizu one is the only one that's kinda/sorta worth buying. If you got to watch em, Netflix em like Dark said.

You jest, but there's a few I'm waiting for.

I haven't, but I'd like to see them. Just don't have the money to spare.

Just got "Penny Dreadful" and "Wicked Little Things" in the mail from Amazon. How happy am I? The wife's going away with our son the week after Easter. It's gonna be horror movies, spicy food, cigars 'n' beer in abundance all week. MUA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

AHHH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

The last film in the Fest, Abandoned, is coming out next month.

My mother-in-law is a horror fanatic and bought every damn one of these. I have yet to hear what she thought, though.

I am getting ready to do a review of this movie and all I can say is this film scared the shit out of me. Great stuff.

Even though I thought it was a little disjointed, especially at the end, "The Abandoned" had the best jump scare I've seen in awhile (I don't fall for those too often, but this one got me GOOD), and has a scene involving children that was possibly the most disturbing thing in the 'Fest, and was completely devoid of gore. I didn't like it enough to buy it, but I can easily see how some would.

While I haven't bought any yet I've seen a few. The Gravedancers was alright. My wife really liked it though. Dark Ride was pretty good. I'll buy it for the Blowjob scene alone....wow. And the best that we've seen so far was Unrest.

Yeah, just watched that one. Goofy, but loads of fun. Don't go in expecting much, but the climax is worth the watch.

Spoiler!

A Hummer is chased through a house by a GIANT FLOATING/CHOMPING GHOST HEAD in the finale!

im reviewing the abandoned dvd as we speak and wicked little things after that. I thought Gravedancers was kind of weak.

GIANT FLOATING/CHOMPING GHOST HEAD begs to differ.

The reason for the weakness can beg to differ all it wants. It's still Uhhhh-WEEEEEEAAAAKKK. Damn shame too; I was kind of with them up to that point. Might have bought this one, too if not for the over the top ending. Enjoy Wicked Little Things, Kev.

Musta been the free beer (I was house-sitting that night and blasting the surround sound without fear of waking anyone). Cause I was rollin'... I know Evil Dead did it better, but I enjoyed the make-up as well.
