The WLAF got this right. First team to score 6 points wins, thus avoiding the opening drive 50 yard field goal winner syndrome.

It is pointless to discuss any possible overtime set-up in which a scoring play does not immediately end the game. The NFL has said they won't do it, they haven't done it for 50+ years, they said during this offseason it won't be considered, and I am convinced we won't see it in our lifetimes.

I think at the professional level, it is not unreasonable to impose sudden death. You have no excuse like 'I was really stressed by my class load' or something. Do you think factory workers get many do overs at their jobs? It's your fucking profession now, and you are being paid very well to do it. If you didn't want do or die pressure you should of become a weather man.

If your defense can't cause a three and out when it counts most thats you GMs fucking fault. Leave it alone.

Also there is a pretty big gap in the number of quality college place kickers and NFL ones. NFL teams could go back on field goals for hours.

How about the team that gets the ball first has to start from their own 10 yardline? Then they really have to work for that field goal, or maybe even decide to defend and hope to force a punt for the short field.

Actually I don't think thats such a bad idea. Although kickoff returns can be some of the most exciting parts of the game, and it doesn't get any better than your return man just putting the dagger in 10 seconds into OT.

But I might be biased since my team has Devin Hester now.
