White Sox 2007

I'm going to go out on a major limb here...

This team is gonna win anywhere from 75-95 games... I have no idea where to go with them.

Even so, this should be a national holiday today. I hate being at work right now.

Working from home is the preferred choice today. Lucky me, I suppose.

I'm with you on being lost with this team. Ozzie plays his young guys in the spring, so records are meaningless. Still, it's going to take a strong start to the year and some starters to figure shit out quickly if they're going to stay with the rest of the division.

My hope is that Erstad is the 'Dye signing' of this offseason. He's just a professional hitter, and they need more guys to slap hits around rather than swinging for the fences.

Last night I had a dream that the Sox were down 13-0 in the first inning today. Of course, DJ's partner in the booth was Wanda Sykes, so I don't know how well my dream-predictions are.

The Cleveland Indians struck first and fast in their season opener in Chicago.
The Tribe scored 5 runs in the first inning and four more in the second, and while the White Sox countered with two of their own, the Indians took command of their season opener.
Well, you were close - go Tribe!

Go fuck yourself. Why don't you post that in another 30 threads?

If I could find another 30 baseball threads, I might... It's a little early in the season to be angry - don't ya think? I was just being playful..

Oh yeah... FYI: Top of 4th
Cleveland 11
Chi White Sox 3

No seriously, start talking shit 4 innings into the season. You're an Indians fan, so you guess you gotta do it when you have the chance.

My go fuck yourself was light-hearted, too.

I'm pretty sure there are 30 baseball threads, BTW.

Yeah, but I'm not sure if the Brewers thread needs to know... yet!

Four innings in, and I got excited - it happens. Plus, we will both probably lose to the Tigers anyway. I just thought it was funny that you had a dream that they were down 13-0 in the first and they are off to a bad start.

tis' a looooooong season.

Big win yesterday. The pitching has definitely picked up after the debacle of the first two days. It's just too bad Garland couldn't get the win on Tuesday.

Big series in Cleveland this weekend. Hopefully, they'll be wiped out and Vasquez can pitch like he did on Saturday.

You can do it Bobby!

He's on all my fantasy squads.

Yeah, I think Jenks is going to be okay. One blown save since last May is pretty fucking good.

I'm feeling good about this series with Tex.
I don't. But then, I'm a cynic. I fully expect the Texas offense to wake up, don't don't see the same from the Sox.

Goddamn the pitching can be so good, but they need someone to heat up. I'm looking at you Crede.

Well, I felt severly wrong yesterday, but I'm loving today. Congrats Mark!

Well, that's one way to couteract the Sox hitting woes. When I looked at the line, I was so happy to see he had 8 k's that I didn't even notice he had no hits.

Pretty embarrassing.

While Mark was firing on all cylinders, the guys behind him were really helping him out. Saved about 6 sure hits, including Blalock's homer stolen by Dye, and Crede getting Hairston, which honestly could have gone either way, it was so close.

Props to Buehrle.

Question, did Gavin Floyd get cut, or sent down? Haven't really heard much about him since the trade, though, I suppose that makes sense, his career was done well before it.
He was sent down. It's obvious Floyd was the real throw-in in the deal, with hopes he would start this year, but they had plenty of fall-back if he didn't. They were really after Gonzalez (who's currently dominating in AA).
