Seattle Mariners 2008 Season: Sprial toward success?

Great opening day game. Hope they can keep this up.

And here I was afraid to start a thread yesterday for my beloved Mariners.

Felix was dominating last night -- 12 K's, 12 groundouts, 0 outfield outs, 3 hits, 0 ER in 8 innings. I'd love to see that all season!

The Mariners got off to a slow start, and if it hadn't been for that error on Crosby, who knows how long it would have been before the Mariners scored a run. They weren't too impressive on the plate, but credit goes to Haren.

If the M's are gonna win the West, they gotta do better at the plate. Their lineup has the potential for scoring a lot of runs.

Another win. This is unheard of.

Oh wait... this is usually how every season starts. And then the downward spiral.

I really hope Sexson keeps up this pace.

And just think... I was hours away from heading to Cleveland for the weekend doubleheader.

"To tell the truth, I'm not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to," Ichiro proclaimed, through an interpreter. "If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland, I'd punch myself in the face, because I'm lying."

Possible greatest quote of the season.

Gotta love Ichiro.

Does CHUD really only have 5 Mariners fans? They've been playing great lately, I'm hoping for the best.

Four. I'm not a fan, but do love Ichiro -- as a baseball fan, how could you not?!?

I also love Bill Bavasi, because he traded half-man, half-beast Rafael Soriano to the Braves straight-up for half-man, half-vajayjay Horacio Ramirez.

5 wins in a row for the M's. 3 games behind the Angels now.

Last night was a crazy game. Cubs tied it up in the bottom of the 8th and then got the bases loaded. Cubs hit a grounder to Beltre and he tossed it home for the first out. Then they brought in a lefty and he struck out 2 guys in a row.

That's about when the reception on my radio crapped out. Looks like they went to 13 innings and the M's pulled it out.

Of course the game wasn't on TV, but it is tonight and tomorrow. Wondering if I should add even more time to the recordings. Haha...

Weird as this may be, I kind of consider myself a Mariners fan. The only Time I ever saw a Baseball game live was at the King dome Mariners vs Cardinals. I had a blast. Baseball's on at really weird times so I hardly ever get to watch it but if the Mariners are playing I always route for them.

While I don't consider myself a "fan" per se, I do kind of like the team. And I got a chance to go to Safeco a couple of years ago. It's a really nice ballpark.

It's amazing how you guys know the exact results of the games the M's will be playing next year.

I went to Safeco last year. Great place to watch a game.

I just read your post and thought: "What the hell is he talking about." Then I actually paid attention to the thread title. Hahaha.

Yeah, I fucked it up.

Last night's game was a little heartbreaking. But seeing Pie get nailed in the balls was nice.

What's with your manager quitting only 4.5 games out?
I bet it's because the management hates him.

At least we're keeping the new managing within. Hopefully this won't affect the current streak the M's are on.
