No, he left off Jason X.

Ah, there's nothing like a list thread with absolutely no explanations provided. Just a real pleasure.

Seriously. I know that I, for one, would love to know how in fuck he could have liked Event Horizon.

My picks are:

"The Thing (1982)".
... 35 more movies ...
"Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1957 and 1978)".
What cracks me up is that you felt the need to put them each in quotes (even the year of release) and end each line in a period. Why?

It's so quotable.

Granted, it was a bad, bad movie. It has its unintentionally hilarious charms, though - I use the line, "Where we're going, we won't NEED eyes!" all the time. Of course, not many of my friends get it, and the movie is so bad I'd never actually want any of them to see it just for that, but it still makes me laugh.

Anyway, it could hardly be left off a list of every moodily lit sci-fi film ever made in English.

I like how he does this for the sake of brevity.

He forgot Leprachaun 4: In Space.
Perhaps he forgot. Or perhaps we now know where CyrusGrissom draws the line.
But he also left out the 1993 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which featured the nearly non-existent breasts of Gabrielle Anwar for nearly 2 seconds.

How could you, Grissom ?

And I, for one, will always ponder how "The Dead Zone" combines sci-fi and horror. Is it because Walken spends some time in a hospital?

And what about, as Scriptwriter/Warrior Angel has so forcefully reminded us, "Exorcist II: The Heretic"? That synchronizer didn't just magic itself into existence.

It didn't? I thought God made it or to a lesser extent Jesus.

Pitch Black is my favorite Aliens-type film since Aliens, if that counts for anything.

It's no Carnosaur 2 though.

Videodrome.

Fair few of Cronenburg's others as well.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who remembers and likes "Return of the Aliens: The Deadly Spawn".

I'm surprised it wasn't a named influence on Slither.
But yes- good film.

I'm disgusted that CREEPOZOIDS has not. This thread is dead to me.

EDIT: I lied. I'm back. This thread is like a Jim Gaffigan show without the funny: "Hey, buddy... I like cake."

totally forgot frankenstein/weiner/hooker

I love Pitch Black. Someone besides me actually mentioned Carnosaur 2? Wow. That's scary.

The Puppet Masters with Donald Sutherland? I'm surprised anybody else saw that. I did enjoy it though.

I remember the Puppet Masters. Neat little flick. Pitch Black blows it away. Or maybe puts on dark goggles and slashes it with a curved knife.
