Seriously? I love Larry Cohen, probably more than the next guy, but why? I'm not chocking on my hatred at this but really they should be remaking movies that should have been better than they were not films that inspite of a silly premise turned out good.

It's strange, cause Cohen was originally supposed to write and direct this when it was announced like 3 years ago. Not sure what happened, but this guy took over the reigns.

I liked the premise of the old film, and even read the book (though which came 1st I can't say. . . it was a long time ago). As I recall, except for the corny looking special effects, it was a decent little film in all other respects. Updated FX are probably just what this franchise needs to get taken seriously and not just be a silly, campy treat. Not that there's anything wrong with that. . .
