Zombies!!! Board game

It's high time I make another thread in this forum. I wanted to discuss Phase IV or maybe even Scarecrows, but I decided this would be the appropriate place to ask if anyone has played the "Zombies!!!" board game. Somehow I came across it after my friend peaked my interest about the Dawn of the Dead board game. So I came across Zombies!!! on ebay and decided to buy it based on the reviews I found on amazon. It sounds like the perfect game to play with my friends, and recently I came to the depressing conclusion that there are only a handful of great zombie movies.

How could I turn this down?

P.S. if you're interested in playing that Dawn of the Dead board game...Just download and print it from here!

I've played it, but it's not a popular game in my circle of friends. It is quite a lot of fun, though.

Not a popular group?

Popular game, sorry.

I love this game as do the people I play with. We have all of the expansions but usually just play with the main city and the army base. Not a bad game, and highly customizable to boot.

Which one is the military base? I know there's a mall and a high school...

That's the second one. More info here: http://boardgamegeek.com/game/3651

That is perhaps the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes upon in the history of history.

Absolutely incredible. I have to buy this.

It's probably one of the easier games to get into and understand that I've played. Plus like I said earlier, there are all kinds of scenarios you can play instead of the normal one that the game talks about. We usually play a variation of Survivor, where you have to go throughout the map and save survivors while killing zombies and trying to make it to the helipad.

Survivor is by far the most entertaining scenario based on the fact that the zombies can easily corner you; making for some hilarious (and not so hilarious) dice rolls.

I'm getting excited now. Maybe I'll buy some extra zombie dogs and babes. I bought an extra bag of 100 zombies because I heard you run out quick.

Save your money. I bought this game years ago and it just isn't very good. If you play the games with the rules as they are the game damn well never ends. It is a a game that sells pretty well based on plastic pieces alone.

A better choice might be "Mall of Horror" by Asmodee Games.

Here is a link http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/16772

You can find some reviews there.

If you buy it, use the original rules as a guideline and then feel free to shape them to whatever suits your group.

Mall of Horror is another good recommendation. I've seen videos of this one in play, but have never actually played it myself.

Feel free to post whatever customized rules you guys have come up with.

It's still a reasonable game, and the pieces are nice.

It's a good, fun game, but twilight creations seems more interested in playtesting than sending out a completely thought through game.

They also have a new one out that's fun but flawed:

Yeah, this game's great as long as you don't take it too seriously. The original rules do make the game take a long time, but that's easily fixed by using a variant or just throwing out the rules you think don't work. We always have a blast when playing it.

after our first round we pretty much decided we'd be better off laying down all the map tiles first.

I just checked that out and it looks pretty cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for this next time I hit up my comic/gaming shop. Thanks for the heads-up!

If you go to the official website for Zombies!!!, you can download revised rules and also alternate rules/scenarios.

It's a good game, and really nails the theme of a zombie movie. The official site, http://www.flyingfrog.net/lastnightonearth/, has an official scenario that you can download as well. Everything about the game is top notch, good mechanics, nice components, low learning curve. I can't recommend this game enough.

Let's not forget the wind-up zombies!!!
