Fender Bender advice

Thread Starter
So, the other day I was coming in to work and this girl backed her giant brand new black Chevy Silverado into my little dinky 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage and dented in the door pretty good and smashed up my left blinker. We exchanged info yadda yadda yadda, my insurance company estimated the damage at $1550 and contacted her. Today I got a call from her and she wants to just pay me out of her pocket to avoid her premiums going up. Has anyone had any bad experiences with this type of thing? If I agree to this, could it come back to bite me in the ass?

I'm no lawyer but it's possible there could be further damage on your car then previously found and if you agree to the deal it's going to be a bitch trying to get any money out of it.

Not to mention the check could be bad.

I wouldn't do it. Imagine something going wrong with your car later linked to this like alignment or something, then you try and report it. They'd probably tell you tough shit since you didn't report it. Besides how bad will her premium get over $1550 worth of damage, and even if it does she should have thought about that before smashing your car.

Sure it might be easy to take the deal but better to go thru the proper channels.
