I came across a thread on the Buccaneers message board I frequent where someone posted this "PSA":
"These days" meaning the annual Gay Days at the Disney Parks at the end of May. Basically, gays and lesbians selected a weekend to visit the parks en masse, and about the only identifying mark is they all wear red t-shirts.
So of course there are those who simply cannot abide the idea of gay people having fun like everybody else and want Disney to ban the event, even though it's not an event originated, organized, or even endorsed by the company. But they do nothing to discourage it either, which you can look at as a show of support but is more likely due to the fact that they'd be crazy to turn away 5 to 10 thousand extra paying customers.
What bothers me is the idea that people feel like they have to warn people to stay away from the parks this particular weekend. Like there's NEVER any gay people at the parks on the other 361 days of the year. Or that two men wearing red shirts and holding hands is going to destroy someone's vacation. I'm sure the parks would do something about really outlandish and inappropriate behavior, but guess what? They'd do the same thing to a straight guest behaving the same way, and to be honest, I've seen worse behavior from some of the "families" this guy is trying to warn away -- screaming disobedient kids, rude parents, moody obnoxious teens, you name it.
Those are the people I'd rather avoid.
