Yes there are! You play hacking minigames - they're both basically matching memory games, one you have to actively maneuver the cursor around big red X solutions while picking the correct sequences of code, the other one you just have to match paired symbols.

I like the locks in FALLOUT 3. I've got it down to a science.

And I think all the locks of certain difficulties have the same sweet spot, in other words all very easy locks unlock the same way, etc. I think.

I did some F3 action on a few FAQs, but I'm lazy... can I get Dogmeat to follow me after I've already shot him? As in follow, without trying to murder me?

I'm not using guides, and I happened upon him attacking some raiders, just assumed he was a tough as nails random enemy dog, until I shot him unconscious.

*edit- I don't particularly want to revert to my last save(as, stupidly on my part, it's been a while), but if that's the only way at least I know where to find him now.
*edit 2- DISREGARD THE REST OF THIS POST, but any tips on keeping your followers around(alive, glitch-free, etc)? And if they die are they gone?

Yes I'm here to bump again.

I'm late in the game and Blood Ties can't be beaten(using my methods anyway). I beat it on an earlier save using the same methods(WAY earlier, I'm 50+ hours in now), but had to go back due to a glitch, and just noticed it was still on my open quests.
Now when I murder the family and deliver the note, I fast travel to Arefu and it immediately gives me this message:

"BLOOD TIES: You are hostile with the family and the residents of Arefu"
And I fail the mission. Another glitch?

Also, Dogmeat is totally useless. I just have him chillin' at the 101 now.

Don't know aboot 'Blood Ties', but Dogmeat is useful for sniffing out and retrieving ammo, weapons and drugs. Sometimes he even bypasses locks that you might not be awesome enough to pick.

I got the Victory rifle from a locked closet by using Dogmeat.

But yeah, in most cases he's useless in combat. If you want him to tag along but not die, just tell him to stay put if you get into trouble or you see trouble ahead.

Yes, if any of the follwers die, they are dead for good. Um make sure they are equipped with enough good weapons and armor if you intend them to fight and survive. Oh and save, a lot. "Charon is dead." "The fuck he is!" *reload from 2 minutes ago*

did you kill the boy you were supposed to talk to while visiting the family? if so, that's your answer. if not, then im not sure.

Nope. Told him about his sister's note and he said he was coming back.

I really love this game, but a lot of the glitches are amazingly annoying in the sense that I don't know if it's something I did wrong, or the game fucking up. When a creature gets stuck in the ground geometry or I get stuck in a wall(or cliff), at least I know what I'm dealing with.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and offer up the (probably rather unpopular) opinion that F3 isn't a patch on Oblivion if we're talking Bethesda sandbox gaming.

When I finally finished it, I was really ready for it to end.
