Left 4 Dead - Page 5

I want to hop on and play, but I've been spoiled by the demo because I've always played with three other people and haven't had to deal with bots. The guys across the pond don't get it until Friday, so hopefully we can get a few good games in before that.

And as for the replayability(?), this game definitely has that. I probably could have played just those first two levels from the demo for another week. And even though there are only four scenarios, there like five levels within each of them, not to mention it's different every time you play it. Plus the Versus mode.
Yeah, with a game like this the replay value comes from who you're playing it with, not the fact it's a level you've played before.
I can still play the co-op campaign from Halo 3 if the people I'm playing with are into it.
I'll be on later, time permitting.
Well, if you hop on then we might be able to get a game with four going. Alex doesn't have it yet, thus blowing my mind.
If we play versus we can have eight of us.

Even if he did, the Mrs has to approve gaming goodness beforehand.
I would have picked this up tonight if I didnt just get COD two days ago.

I think I probably will anyway.
It was nice to get a little bit further than the demo went, before getting wiped out and sent back to the first save room. Expert's a bitch.

But still, I'm thinking I'm only going to play it on Expert, at least for a while. The insane challenge of it is too good.
So fun. So fucking fun.

After being disappointed by every A-list release I've played in the past month, this seems like a real breath of fresh air.
Online Vs. makes this game.

Not having any idea of how the levels are made and running through them blasting zombies is fucking epic.
Yeah, we rocked those guys Zombie. Especially when it was you, Matches and I. Awesome times.
Are you guys playing Xbox? I never seem to see many Chewers on Steam when I check.

Playing as zombies is AWESOME. Reminds me of the AVP2 days.

That was freakin' great. I'm totally going to be on tonight.
Yeah we kicked ass. I enjoy using myself as bait. Works to our advantage.
You going to play tonight, Rob?
I didn't think anything could pull me away from Horde. This game=teh awesome. On advanced, with 2/3 people, it was simply insane.

Fuck yeah man. We rocked that shit last night. Made it to the helicopter on the first campaign in record time in VS. Fucking rocked the other team....hard.

Have you played the Versus mode yet?

I saw you guys on, but I had to spend some time with the girlfriend and our new cat.
All I know is that our team in zombie mode last night was fucking unstoppable for the most part. We were setting up traps like no one's business.

Trying to make it through the campaigns. Haven't tried Versus. It looks like if I do try it, though, I'll be finishing the campaigns next year.
It's all about versus. You get to go through the first 2 campaigns on both sides in versus. Hopefully they'll release the other two soon to be playable.
Has anyone survived the helicopter rescue in versus yet?
Yep.
Downloading this from Steam now.

Fookers.
I love this game so much, but I'm scared that if I play any of you...my ass will be handed to me.
Yeah Eric. Last night both teams made it, but our team made it in record time it felt like. haha. Also went through the Death Toll campaign with a friend. Fun as hell.
left4dead.exe has stopped working.

Naturally.
What difficulty you guys playing it on? I have one human teammate and two bots, and through the first two campaigns, we can beat all the chapters except the finales on advanced. On advanced, with friendly fire, the bots are so fucking retarded I have no fucking idea how you're supposed to survive the finales until the helicopter arrives. On the other hand, normal is a bit too easy. Maybe I just need more human mates.

Thoughts?
I do Expert only, and I'd really prefer to only have human teammates. True, I have yet to see the end of No Mercy (and won't be trying the next campaign until I do), but the insane difficulty makes it so much more fun.

But I need to build up a larger base of willing co-Expert players. Steam players in general aren't so bad, but to get through Expert you really gotta work together, something you can't depend on with a random group of three strangers.
I can't imagine surviving a last stand on expert.
Expert all the way with 4 people. Advanced with 2 or less.
When I got on last night I didn't see anyone, so I went into versus with random people and the team I got put on was surprisingly good and talkative. The trick to this game is teamwork. If you have four people all talking to each other there's no reason why you shouldn't always win.

That was the strength and the weakness of the game from playing the demo. It's the reason I haven't bought the game yet to be honest. I had one game where a guy refused to leave the safe room while 3 of us tried to play through on expert while he stayed in the safe room typing such wondrous pearls as "LOL u guys got jacked up!".
See to me that makes the game better, because if you have one player not pulling their own, it makes it nearly impossible for the rest of your team. Especially on Expert.
You can always shot gun that guy into oblivion and then he's stuck watching until you make it to the next safe room, then when he respawns you shot gun his ass into oblivion again.

or you can vote to kick him, I prefer the shot gun to the face myself.

Have you beaten a helicopter finale on Advanced with two or less people? If so, bravo sir. Bravo. For the "normal" levels Advanced is perfect, but the finales seem like as much a matter of luck with the "bosses" as it is skill. Eventually your moron teammate runs out to his death and either a Tank or Smoker gets you all by himself.

The fact that AI teammates wander off instead of, for example, guarding your back while you mini-gun, is infuriating.

I finished No Mercy on advanced in single-player, but I couldn't be bothered with the other campaigns. I just tried to stick to the room with the radio, and luckily no one wandered off.

I can't even really imagine playing through a single-player game on expert. I imagine it would be way easier in the PC version, given the controls.

Yep. A buddy and I finished Death Toll last night on Advanced. 4 tanks ended up spawning in a matter of 5 mins while we were waiting on the docks. It was madness and we only lost 1 AI.

RIP FRANCIS.

I still haven't played a campaign other than No Mercy.

Neither have I. Im down to play with a decent team of 4. I wanted to wait till Spike & Shovel had things to get things going. I should be good this weekend as long as its late.

My 360 is out for the count for a while I think, so I'm not going to be L4Ding any time soon.
Ok...

Two Player Co-op Split Screen?
2 Player Co-Op Split Screen XBOX Live?

If so I'm in, if not I still might be?
Yup to both.
I've played three of the four campaigns so far, and Death Toll is the only one that has barely any replay value IMO.
I don't know. Personally I love me some Blood Harvest. There is nothing quite like jumping into that corn field before the final farm house on advanced.
Long time lurker here. I'm with Overlord, I didn't think anything could pull me from Horde, but this game is great.

Add me (XBL: Yoppula) if you're looking for another teammate. I'm on sporadically depending on work demands.
Bill is a rapist...

Haha. A buddy sent me this. awesome.
Muahahahaha!
