I am hopefully going to pick mine up tomorrow at Barnes and Noble.

Looks kinda-sorta interesting, but I question how much info on Star Wars remains to be gleaned. What's left?

What I REALLY want to see is the famous first cut of the film, but the odds of that are nil at this point...at least until Lucas kicks the bucket and his kids open the vault.

I'll wait for the 3-D version.

Carl likes a STAR WARS book? I admit to being blindsided by that third act twist.

Ignoring the sniping, this is truly the first "Star Wars" book that I would recommend to just about anyone even remotely interested in the movies since THE ANNOTATED SCREENPLAYS. (Oh, and I despise The Expanded Universe, for what it's worth).

Surprisingly, quite a bit. While this book contains a lot of stuff that we already know about there is still a wealth of never-before-revealed anecdotes, information and photos. And I mean tons. Stuff even I (your resident Star Wars Apologistâ„¢ and punching bag) had never heard of before.

And it's not sugar-coated either. Like the "Beginning" documentary on the EP1 DVD the book tells it like it is, warts and all. And that's even more remarkable considering it was written internally by LFL's Senior Staff Editor.

I think that Rinzler's book on the making of episode 3 was also quite good. He has a way of writing through the line and allowing the more manic or peculiar aspects of ole George to come out.

That's like a Cliff's Notes book compared to this one. Seriously.

Yeah, but you liked Attack of the Cl......oh hell, it's just tired now. This book actually looked pretty interesting.

The book is fantastic and has more to do with the production of a film than Star Wars it's self. The interviews mostly take place before Star Wars was huge and are brutally honest. All in all, I'd say it's the most important Star Wars book ever.

Also, if you are interested in picking this up, don't get the hardcover. It's way more expensive and it only has production paintings which can be found everywhere.

If you're rich or really love hardbacks, do your thing, but the soft cover is about $30 at bookstores as opposed to $50-$75 for the hardcover.

Surprised to see this get the 'Jason@Star-Wars.net' endorsement.

More important than Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina? Get the fuck out of here.

Get the hardcover. The softcover is roughly 80 pages less. Fantastic book. Tons and tons of images I've never seen.

The extra pages are storyboards that have been released before. I'm waiting for the hardcover to go on the cheap.

You should consider just tithing 10% of your paycheck to Lucasfilm. It'd be much easier.

Can you communicate without being an asshole?

I'm just pissed the my thread (as linked by Rath) on the book posted two weeks before this one didn't get the 'Jason@star-wars.net' seal of appoval.
