Best ways to kill time online

Looking for some help finding websites that could help me kill time this summer. I spend 5+ hours a day on a computer at work (between answering calls) and my routine usually goes:

email
chud.com
espn.com
fark.com
CNN.com
Boredom...lots of boredom.

Unfortunately, I can't access youtube or any other video site.

Any suggestions on time consuming and fun/interesting sites?

-Webcomics
-www.eatpoopucat.com

Reading books, however, are the best alternative.

No Youtube? Is that legal? Um... I can kill a lot of time on IMDB reading reviews and whatnot.

Pornography. This is why the internet was invented, right?

I find I can kill a lot of time on IMDB also. Just looking up a movie, and then reading through the message board more often than not produces a smile on my face, from the unintentional humor that I read. I also spend a lot of time here on the boards.

Myspace. I kill hours on there. It's like, i'll find one person I know, that leads to a ton of others. It's like crack, sometimes.

What the hell kinda jobs do you guys have where you can get away with cruising the net for hours every shift and not fall behind?
Oh I fall behind. I just make sure I don't fall behind as much as everyone else who is cruising the net instead of working.

I spend a lot of time on Google News just searching for the latest articles on the things that interest me most. Almost every day there is something new that pops up about the Giants, Dolph Lundgren, mutilated flamingos, etc.

Why not try Shows For You. Great forum for chatting mainly about fave TV shows, but also movies as well. I've found it pretty addictive.

But, I'm with the others, how does anyone find 5+ hours a day to surf the net! Gee, what do you do - and how do I apply?

Why don't you pass the time with a game of solitaire?

Become a wikipedia editor.

Wiki's will eat your soul.

See if you can access this site from work: http://www.hohenau.net/forum/activity.php

There's a few on-line games you can play to pass the time.

Sadly my job has seen fit recently to block the Chud forums.

Ouch. How...how do you do it?

Well there's always World of Warcraft. That'll blow the hours away.

I actually spend a lot of time right here. Get into a few interesting discussions during the peak day hours (when you fuckers should be working) and you can waste the whole day away. I don't get to sit at a computer during work, so when I have the day off, I'm always shocked at how quickly responses come in on the forums.

Also, going through The Onion's archives can while some time away, as long as it's okay to occasionally laugh out loud.

Graduate assistant/receptionist for an office on campus. I answer questions for people who visit the University. When there's no people I stare at the wall or play on the computer.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming!

I've tried, but the interruptions kill the creative juices. Once I stop to take 10 minutes to explain to some enraged parent that their child's 23 on the ACT does not qualify them for a full schoalrship, I find it difficult to return to the story without destroying the continuity or flow.

But, it makes for some wonderfully shitty haikus.

Fuck it. Maybe I'll give some short stories another shot. Any new prompts on the CHUDstories horizon?

I kill a good eight hours a day, five days a week with this kooky thing called "Work", I have feeling it will catch on.

I usually kill a lot more than 8 hours a day, six or seven days a week that way. But then, we all have our addictions.

That'll never catch on. Not enough sex.
