I just watched Cat's Eye. 1931 Dracula is on now. This is the finest TV channel ever invented.

I'd be tempted to watch it if my service carried it. Is is only on Directv?

This is from a posting in the Generalized TV Talk forum

Rinse and repeat.
That was a few weeks ago, so the programming has changed a bit. I saw Cat's Eye about five times this last week. It has potential, but it is very repetitive.

Yeah, I've seen it. Last I checked, they were rifling through Trimark's early nineties collection.

it's better than nothing but I agree that they are off to a lame start considering:

1. the endless ad naseum repeat screenings of the same movies-- get some variation in there already, for christs sake

2. the movies they show are so heavily edited for content as to be laughable. it's a satellite cable channel, but they are editing like they are screening on broadcast TV in the 1980s. real dumb. and too many commercials.

3. I also agree that the quality is somehow very very bad even though it's a digital channel. it's like watching TV while wearing glasses smeared with vaseline.

other than that... it's better than nothing

So far as I'm aware, lack of content is generally an issue with MOST startup channels; as they pick up revenue from more systems carrying them, they'll probably be able to get more diverse/better quality programming.

That's what I figured, so I'm still giving it a chance. Every once in a while I will flip it on and catch something I have never seen before, and I have seen commercials for their website where we can 'demand to see this or that.' It's better than nothing.

I have the same issue w. Fearnet on demand on Comcast Cable. Not mucg going on there. A lot of lame movies (although they did have 'last house on the left", unedited, which I had never seen before), and they don't change 'em up too much. Still, like Mattimus said; better than nothing.

BTW, for the rest of you Comcast customers, I was perusing the On Demand menu last night and saw an entry called 'Horrorfest". I thought, "No, it can't be. . . " but it is. It's 7 of the 8 "Films to Die for" from last year's AfterDark fest If you haven't seen 'em and are curious, but don't want to buy a DVD to find out, here's your chance. I didn't check; they may even be free.

You're right that the quality is not good. The sound particularly on the movies was bad, so you crank up the volume and then the commercials come on at full blast. But I really miss that kind of random horror programming that used to come on late at night. It could be great!

This channel shows Twin Peaks and Friday the 13th: The Series, so it is indeed the shit. Plus, I watched Abel Ferrara's Body Snatchers on it a few weeks back. I forgot how much I like that flick.

Ferrara's Body Snatchers beat the odds. There was no reason why it should have been good and yet it was. A lot of Ferrara's movies are like that, like Ms. 45.
