....of racist posts.

The CBS News website has decided not to allow comments from the public concerning presidential candidate Barack Obama because many of them to date have turned out to be racist in nature, the CBS blog Public Eye reported Friday. It quoted Mike Sims, director of news and operations for CBSNews.com, as saying that the website has often deleted racist comments about Obama; however, "the volume and the persistence" of them made them difficult to handle.

Can't we all agree that everything he said is blisteringly stupid?

Yes, we can.

I LOVE tha fact that in one thread, he calls GWB a fascist for trying to over-ride the Constitution, and yet here he....no....the irony is just too much

I know, I was trying to figure out which thread to point that out in. Thanks for sparing me the effort.

The thing about racism and Obama is that the racists in this country are only growing more hateful and bigoted, but: 50% of the public never even votes in a given election. Maybe some of them are bigots, maybe not, but Obama is the kind of candidate that could inspire someone completely disgusted with the system into getting involved. That said, because racism runs so strong and deep still, he and his family will need serious protection pretty much for the rest of their lives.

Speaking of Sen. Obama, did anyone read the profile of him in the New Yorker? Their profiles of presidential candidates in an election year are always great, and this was (I think) one of their first on the Senator. Good stuff.

Someone should probably show Obama Eddie Murphy's "First Black President" skit.
