Joe Rogan SHINY HAPPY JIHAD

I'll admit up front that I've never been a big fan of Joe Rogan. I didn't have anything against him (unlike a lot of people from my generation who seem to blame him and Doug for ruining The Man Show, which was a show beyond saving), I just never saw anything of his that caught my interest (I hated Mencia long before Rogan set his sights on him, so I didn't see his calling him out as anything new). I got a new cell phone recently which allowed me to get 50 free songs from eMusic and since their selection is pretty bare, I decided to give Joe a listen. Much to my surprise, he's a pretty funny motherfucker. He does get a bit obnoxious at times, but his rants on his stint on Fear Factor, March of the Penguins, dumb people out-breeding smart people, and being raised catholic destroyed me. Definitely one of the better stand-up CDs I've listened to recently.

Two words: News and Radio.

He was also really good the two times he was a guest on The Penn Jillette Radio Show. Rogan's a big conspiracy nut, and they matched him against a space travel historian on the subject of whether or not man ever landed on the moon (Joe was on the side of nay). He actually really came off well in those debates, kinda won them.

But I've listened to a bit of his standup and never really got into it. Too much angry shouting, not enough jokes. I didn't know he was on eMusic; maybe I'll give him another try.

There are times that Rogan cracks me up, there are also times he makes me regret having ears that work. He could be worse though, he could steal jokes and still not be funny.

I loved News Radio. I never had much interest in him post News Radio, but I'll give his CD a try.

Hmm, I got a promo copy of this that has been sitting on my office desk for several weeks now, but I hate the guy, so I've yet to even open it. Perhaps I'll give it a few minutes to win me over tomorrow.

This guy always gives off the vibe of a former highschool bully who enjoyed it way too much. Maybe even misses it.

News Radio would have been funny no matter what.

there was a pretty good routine he used to do, while juvenile was fucking hilaroius.

It involved arnold schwarzenegger getting prison raped. All I can remember is Joe doing arnie, "oooowww my aaaasss"
