"Look kids! It's Star Wars' Mark Hamill!" or some such thing. 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' was a pretty forgettable movie all around, but I liked CockBlocker's introduction.

In the same way that the Droids count in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I have to agree, that's a pretty danm good one.

"Have you seen this child?"

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
That is a great scene with Patrick, though it was in the original WAYNE'S WORLD. The best one in WAYNE'S WORLD 2 is Chuck Heston as the replacement actor who takes over as the gas station attendant.

I'm also fond of Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy's appearance in COMING TO AMERICA.

Has anyone mentioned Robert DeNiro in Brazil yet? If not, I will.

Can that be considered a cameo, though? He appears in more than a scene.

- Martin Sheen in Hot Shots Part Deux
- Bruce Willis in Loaded Weapon 1

I don't know. I was unsure of the criteria being used for this list. I've only ever heard of it referred to as a cameo and not a bit part, so I went with it. Feel free to disregard, though.
DeNiro in Brazil is without question a supporting turn.

Ralph Richardson in Time Bandits is more like a cameo.
The 3 Stooges in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

I'm surprised noone's brought that one up yet!

Cameron Diaz at the elevator, just for the so weird speech she got. Fear and loathing in LAs Vegas
post #67 of 125

Edit: Errr, "bump"?

I'd have to add Marshall McLuhan in Annie Hall.

"How you got to teach a class in anything is beyond me..."

No, his cameo in Robert Rodriguez's Road racers is better.

Although I sort of loathed the film, Tim Robbins cameo in Anchorman really left me stunned. That was a pretty great moment.
David Letterman in Cabin Boy.
Dan Aykroyd in CASPER. "Who ya gonna call? Someone else."
It was briefly mentioned above, but I gotta throw some more love towards James Earl Jones showing up at the end of Sneakers. Absolutely priceless scene.

"I want peace on Earth, and goodwill towards men."
"We're the United States Government, we don't DO that sort of thing!"

Even though its not that great of a film...

I loved Joe Pesci's little bit at Sonny's funeral in "A Bronx Tale". Thought it was one of the more subtle and poingant scenes in an otherwise hamfisted film.

Or...

Joe Pesci in The Good Shepard. I like that he shows up in both films Deniro directs as a cameo only.
Not sure if it counts as a cameo but, Brad Pitt in 'Being John Malkovich'.
The look on his face is classic
Hayden Christensen in "Return Of the Jedi": A good idea, questionable execution.

Billy Ray Cyrus in "Mullholland Drive": Funny as hell. "It's for the best...."

Anthony Hopkins in "Mission Impossible 2": Added a little extra cred to the actioneer.

Jay and Silent Bob in "Scream 3": The movie was stupid, and the cameo doesn't really hold up, but it's funny the first time.
Richard Dreyfuss in THE GRADUATE.

Glenn Close as a male pirate in HOOK.

Tom Savini in LAND OF THE DEAD.

The Millenium Falcon in BLADE RUNNER.

Where's Richard Kiel?

Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear: There is a frenzied riot of people escaping from the hotel with the bomb, Zoo animals are wrecking havok, and Lloyd Bochner runs into frame holding a copy of 'To Serve Man' and shouting "It's a cookbook!"

I'm fond of "I am NOT a dating service," myself.

Michael Bay in BAD BOYS II.
Randolph and Mortimer Duke (Trading Places) show up as bums in "Coming to America" and Prince Akeem gives them a wad of cash. I've always thought this was a nice touch of cameo.

Moltisanti beat you to it....see post #58.

John Hughes as the father of Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) in "The Breakfast Club"

Rainer Werner Fassbinder as a back-alley peddler in "The Marriage of Maria Braun"

As far as Landis' films go, "Into the Night" has the best cameos. I love Amy Heckerling as a waitress and Jonathan Demme as a beduddled fed.

Donald Trump's cameo in "Home Alone 2" is fairly amusing.

The Brothers Quay in Peter Greenaway's "The Falls"

Mark E. Smith and Mani in "24 Hour Party People"

Jack Nicholson's blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in "Ragtime"
