You'd be surprised how many people changed their minds about seeing it in the theater once it started and they realized it was in Spanish. I had a bunch of obnoxious people walk out of the showing I went to ("Why isn't this movie in English? Can't they make it in English? Go tell them to turn on the English!"). Yeah, just wow.
(On a side note, I saw a trailer for Verhoven's
Black Book the other day, and I think it's the first foreign language trailer I've ever seen that actually has dialogue--subtitled dialogue--in it. It was kind of a surprise since usually trailers for subtitled movies, like
Pan's Labyrinth, try as hard as they can to not have any dialogue.)
