"...and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick."

Wasn't there an old Tales of the Darkside episode with that premise?

Not that anyone would remember it...

The schoolbus pic looks pretty creepy.

I can't remeber when I last saw a good anthology flick. Might have to go as far back as Cat's Eye. I'd really love for this to be good.
What, Tales From the Hood didn't do it for you?
Oh, yeah. Forgot TFTH. OK, I haven't seen a good anthology since THAT. I'd really love for this one to be good.

I'm stoked. I said it in the main page thread, but we really could use a horror flick like this about now. The trailer looks like it has something for everybody.

This trailer has me amped. Despite the different subject matter and all, this is what the Rob Zombie Halloween trailer should have been.

Now a picture of a Venom action figure had people peeing their pants, but I'm more excited by this. Sideshow has some new figure of the...thing that bugs Brian Cox in Trick r Treat.

So, um, what happened? It's Halloween and no Trick 'R Treat. Does this mean it's going to end up in the January dumping grounds? Or are we talking straight to video? Either way, I'm sorely disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing this little guy in action... also Anna Paquin in a Little Red Riding Hood outfit.

Yeah, I think the episode you are talking about was called "Halloween Candy".

This one featured Mr. Kellum, a nasty old man. You know things aren't going to go well for him when he asks his son to bring him "Waffles, the real ones, frozen, not that stuff you pour." Even though Ned brought some candy for his father to hand out, the old man insisted on being an ass. But, when a demon shows up saying "Trick or treat", it takes an especially stubborn type to not give up the candy and risk demonic tricks. Of course, The dark side takes its due, freezing time to stretch the torture.

It's very rare for a horror film to interest me but I'm dying to see this. IMDB has a release date of 2009 and there is some news out that it's still at WB. Anyone know more?
Well, Warner Bros. dumped it according to the main page. Fuckin A' because I want to see this movie so bad.
The poster was really nice.
That was a pretty cool poster.
It's been dumped since back in April when it was first reported.

TRICK 'R' TREAT is terrific. It no way deserves dumping. It's a genuine holiday classic, and by classic I mean that it's the kind of film that would be played every Halloween by horror-loving fans everywhere.
I'm really looking forward to this flick too. Somebody better snatch it up quick, because we've already been waiting since last October to see it.

Sonovabitch...

I would be interested in hearing exactly what happened from the people on the inside, because unless I am completely misunderstanding certain business relationships Warner Bros. licensed toys, they made posters, and they released a book of at least concept art if not the script and then hung the actual movie out to dry.

It's just fucked is what it is. I still really want to see this.
I've been way behind on this one, and I just watched the trailer - Really intriguing stuff. It looks like the kind of Halloween (the holiday itself, not the beyond-fucked Michael Myers franchise) movie I've been waiting to see for a long, long time.

Here's hoping this sucker still goes theatrical... somehow.
Too bad. I looked forward to this since seeing the trailer last summer. How come studio politics never seem to hold up the release of crappy movies? Maybe they do and we just never know. (I admit to thinking Midnight Meat Train was a decently fun drive-in movie.)
This news makes me so very, very mad.
LA people - TRICK R TREAT will be playing at Mann's Chinese at Screamfest. Details here!

Go if you can. It's too much fun not to see in a theater.
Damnit!
Is this going to play anywhere--and by "anywhere", I mean Philadelphia--besides Scream Fest?
I want to see this in the theater so bad, but at this point just release it on DVD already so I can at least watch it.
I've been waiting so long to see a decent Halloween movie in theaters. Can I at least hope to see it on video next Halloween?
Delayed until 2018.

"But what's going to happen to 'Trick R' Treat'?"

"We have top men working on it now."

"Who?"

"Top...MEN!"

So jealous. Another Halloween is almost upon us and I'm still waiting to see this.
