Anyone here cringed at Masters of Horror's "Imprint"?

I mean it has got the most disturbing torture scene i have witnessed! the part where a chick gets needles shoved under her fingernails and gums and lips was horrific.

This story makes "Hostel" look like a bedtime story, it's up there with "Bloodsucking Freaks" and "Men Behind The Sun" for one of the most horrific torture flicks ever.

I liked this "banned" MOH episode quite a bit, but then I like Miike AND watching people being tortured (not necessarily in that order).

It didn't quite capture the clinical sociopathic horror of "Men Behind the Sun", and suffered quite a bit from the "so far over the top he's under it" performance of Drago, but it did end up being my favorite episode of MOH Season 1. "Bloodsucking Freaks", By the way, is far too campy to be considered a proper comparison.

So to answer your question, No, I didn't cringe. I am, however, sure anyone with a normal, healthy psychological makeup would.

Masters of Horror is a terrible show. One turd after another. John Carpenter and the writer of his episode need to knock it the fuck off. Awful.

This is derailing a bit but I gotta disagree, this show ain't The Twilight Zone but as far as a horror anthology show, it's one of the better we've had over the last 20 years. It gets some unjust hate and it isn't what it should be, but we gotta take what we can get. The bad episodes (Hooper, Argento, Gordon) are REALLY BAD but there are enough decent to good episodes to merit watching. I actually enjoyed Carpenter's, Coscarelli's, Dante's, and Landis' episodes. And now to re-rail: I haven't yet seen the Miike episode, but consider me sold.

Even after seeing Ichi The Killer, Audition and Dead Or Alive, yes, I did cringe at Imprint. Although I did know what to expect, it being a Miike movie. Haven't caught all of S2, but so far what I've seen, S1 was better.
