Deep Discount DVD 20% Off Sale

If there's any DVDs you've been meaning to pick up, now might be a good time. Just put in the code "DVDTALK" when you check out.

I picked up BSG 2.0/2.5, Brazil: Criterion Collection, and Tootsie (I'm ashamed I didn't have that last one in my collection till now).

The sale runs until June 17th so get while the gettin's good.
Oh shit. "Thanks". I go box set crazy during these.
$28 seemed a bit high for me to get my Dad the first season of "The Odd Couple" for Father's Day. But for $22.40 I think I can make it work. Enjoy it old man!

Really? I didn't realize it was so indispensable.

I still haven't watched the stuff I got from the last sale, but that probably won't stop me from indulging.
Thanks for the tip. Probably not good that I discovered this code on payday...

It's one of the best comedies of all-time so I should probably have it in my collection.
Thanks, I just blew 200$, but I'll finally get to see The Wire.
Do they ship to P.O. Boxes? I can't deal with Fed Ex and the like.

$20.70 for the Criterion edition of The Third Man? Not too fucking shabby.

Was that the new two disc version?
Dammit! I completely forgot about Criterion films when I placed my order.
Thank you sir. Was looking forward to grabbing up some stuff.

Alejandro Jodorowsky, Django, and that Tremors Attack Pack are so mine.

Edit: $6.08 Once Upon a Time in the West? That hole in my collection= plugged.

I checked Amazon and they have the same artwork for the set(new "C" logo and all), so I assume so.
Unless there's a single "film only" disc of the new release, but I haven't seen one.
Suddenly all of the local stores not getting in copies of Ball of Fire seems to be a serendipitous event. Seriously, it's like ten bucks with the discount, everybody discover this fucking movie.
Does this discount include CDs too? I added the complete original Black Sabbath boxset to my cart, and applied the code. The box set was listed at the same price.
This would be awesome if I could order the titles coming out Tuesday now. They still count as pre-orders, but at this point I don't think they should, especially since the sale goes through the week.

I think it's DVDs only. I checked a few videogames and the price didn't change.

Anyone who's ordered from them before... do they mail to P.O. Boxes? That's a deal-breaker for me if they don't.
I'm thinking of blind buying the Jodorowsky set, since it's so talked about here, and I'll probably be finally getting the 2 disc Near Dark set, as well as Robot Jox! The Dazed and Confused Criterion looks tempting as well.
holy-shnikes, thank you sir. I used this opportunity to pick up the Planet Earth and Looney Toons Golden Collection 1-3 box sets. I sure wish I had enough dough to pick up that giant Twilight Zone set.
$25 for 3 disc Seven Samurai is mine.

And the Twilight Zone set for $133 is awfully, awfully tempting.
Battlestar 2.0/2.5 and Pan's Labyrinth 2-disc for $59 was too good to pass up
post #21 of 96
Somebody hold me back. My wishlist is pretty dang long.

Yes, I'm quoting myself. It's become a running theme for the thread, and I must know before it's too late.

Here's a crazy idea: how about emailing them?
Sooooooo tempting. The Wire is on my watch list. And the currency exchange is amazing. Do I have 200 $ to spend ? No......

You want to. I've never an episode and I bought season 1 and 2 with the coupon.

Batman the Animated Series is also at a cheaper price there.
The entire The Prisoner series shall be MINE!

I shall meditate on this. And negotiate with the wife.

I also may have to get her pregnant.

Waited til midnight and placed an order for the Leone collection, Trading Places, Coming To America, Seinfeld S8, and Mission: Impossible S2. Put out for next day delivery, and it didn't cut too much into my savings. All that for $135 total. They'd better ship it out today.
So, they shipped them out Tuesday and they should have arrived today, but of course they didn't because UPS is full of incompetent fucktards. Unfortunately for Deep Discount I won't be giving them business anymore because of it. It's not their fault, but if they used FedEx I'd have my DVDs now.
Always use USPS and Canada Post. Much much better service and cheaper. And before you say you wanted your stuff faster (you really need those DVDs now?), I get my stuff faster with the postal service even thought the estimated delivery times say otherwise.

UPS are the worst, and you'll probably pay a ton in customs fee.
Well I'm in LA and they're in Chicago or something so I didn't need to worry about customs fees. I did want my stuff fast, and if I had used their USPS service I would have gotten it at the end of next week.
Sorry, I don't know why, but when I typed this I was sure you were canadian. Don't know where that came from.

This is baffling to me. Are the movies not fresh enough if you don't get them immediately?

I'm pretty sure they have the next day air option for a reason. If I want my DVDs next day, I pay for the option, I should get them next day. Whether or not I'm impatient doesn't really matter. They didn't fulfill a service.

I believe that one's just all of the sets repackaged. Cheaper than buying every set in a collection... more packaging.

So I finally buckled and bought that Twilight Zone set. JuddL, you bastard, you got me so tempted when I saw that.

3 1/2 days straight of goodness, here I come.
I ended up ordering the Third Man Criterion and the 2-disc Pan's Labyrinth for under 40 bucks, wheee!

Oh, and yes they mail to P.O. Boxes. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

How often do they do these sales?

Twice a year, one in June, the other in November.
DVD Planet is also having a 20% off sale, so if you don't like ordering from DeepDiscount, you can get pretty much the same price from DVDPlanet over the next four days.
Just ordered Twilight Zone set and for $135 that is a great deal.
Damn you Third Man for not being in stock.
DDD has a better price on Venture Bros. season 1& 2, so I went with them.
Just picked up the two-disc editions of American Graffitti and V for Vendetta for under 18 bucks.
As usual, I took the occasion to order some pricier stuff, and ended up with Dr Who season 1 and 2, Deadwood season 3, the Yojimbo/Sanjuro Criterion Box, The Road Warrior Blu-ray, the new animated Highlander, and the second Hellboy animated.
I picked up Soylent Green, Kelly's Heroes, Jungle Horrors triple pack:Jungle Holocaust, Eaten Alive, and Massacre In Dinosaur Valley. Cannibal Ferox, and of course Stone Cold.
I'd be mad that Planet Earth is 53 here but I just got it for 51 at Borders with a discount so my Father's Day is covered. But now I'm mad that I didn't see this thread earlier.
