My Wedding Photos from China...

Sup guys, been coming to Chud for a long time, mostly in the video game forum but this post won't quite fit there. I just came back from a trip to visit my wife in China. The reason I say "visit" is because immigration laws in this country are so fucked up at this point that even though we got married in the US she still has to wait for 2 years in China to be able to immigrate here. But anyway that is a whole other story. We got married on May 18 of last year but didn't have a big wedding as we both had just graduated college and had no money. She had to go back to China in January, due to her J1 student visa expiring, and I just went to China to visit her at the end of April and first week of May. I gotta say, this being the first time out, it was great. Shanghai is a beautiful city to be in and if I didn't have bills to pay here, I would move over there in a second to live over there for 2 years while she waits to immigrate here. She can visit here but she can't immigrate here. She had a great accounting job over here and her firm is holding her job for her when she comes back. The only problem is when visits here, she cant legally work so she can't stay for long periods of time due to us basically being on one income while she is here.
But anyway, good news is we had our wedding pictures taken in Shanghai, outside in an outdoor movie studio where they film many chinese movies. The photographer who is a good friend of her family works for a chinese fashion magazine. I had to downsize the original photos because the raw ones were 3-4mb each. But still came out well. These aren't photoshopped, the studio is doing that for us now. Took about 12 hours to take all the photos, we had 3 outfits for outside photos and 3 outfits for inside photos. It would have taken about 5 hours but her change clothes and make up after each set was the time killer heh. She had her own make up artist that followed her around all day, so she was getting pampered heh.

Wow, great photos. Sucks that you have to be apart - I tried a long-distance relationship for a while, and it is just no fun.

And might I add, you certainly punched above your weight in landing her. Good job, congrats, good luck, etc etc.

Yeah being apart was hard at first since when we were together for the 3 years she was here we spent basically every moment together. So at first it was hard getting back to my former life of video games lol. But now with MSN Messenger Live with their video chatting and microphone stuff, it really isn't that bad. I have an online phone card that I can recharge any time online and I can use my cellphone to call her in china for like 2 cents a minute. So it hasn't been that bad once I adjusted. She is coming back for a month here in August so that will be great.

Congratulations to you and your beautiful bride, Ryo.

Congrats Ryo. I feel you on the immigration thing. I've been going through my own personal hell trying to bring my fiancee over for the past few years from Japan.

Congratulations! Sorry for the difficulties, but it will work out.

Great pictures. My boy had to do the immigration thing with his wife. What ended up happening was that during one of his girl's visit to the states, they "decided" to have an "impromptu" wedding. He then had an immigration lawyer go about rushing through the papers for her to stay and begin working as soon as possible. Good luck kat.

Those photos look fantastic. Your wife looks like a movie star. You look like a hobo that wandered onto the set, but...

I'm just joshing. Congratulations and I hope you guys find a way to be together.

This really needs a slide show set to the Final Fantasy XII soundtrack.

Great catch Ryo kudos and congrats to you. I've done long distance relationships and it can be difficult but well worth it with the right gal and it looks like you got one so hang tough.

Thanks guys and gals for your comments, in this new day and age with technology it is really easy to talk and see other every day even being 10,000 miles away. And to flyarz, the FFXII soundtrack blew. Sakimoto shouldn't be allowed near an FF game, FF died with FFX and the departure of Sakaguchi and Uematsu. Our new FF will be Lost Odysessy and Blue Dragon. But that is a whole other topic.
