Summer Power Outages Have Begun...

Was at Wal-Mart today and the power went out. At first I thought the Gates of Hell were about to open then I realized it was most likely because of the AC's running since it was quite hot today. The whole block was out too.

Funny thing was when the power went out and the emergency lights came on some young 20 year old girl yelled out, "You've got to be fucking kidding me." I guess she's never experienced a power outage before.

I guess we can look forward to more of these.

It's beginning to storm pretty badly here in the 'burgh, and me having my computer on right now is kind of a scary thought.

I know. It's super dark. One of my client school districts was trying to decide whether to hold graduation inside or outside. About 3:30 I said confidently, "Hold it outside!"

I just called to apologize. They said no problem. They'd called KDKA and ignored me anyway.

We have a severe thunderstorm going on right now. It's pretty sweet! I hope we don't get a power surge and my monitor explodes. That's what power bars are for asD@$<R#@)DAWQD........

Keep an eye on that storm, Rex. Baseball sized hail in Wisconsin last night. Click on the "hail" video and ignore the accents of the people in the background. Please.

As we do not have a garage and as the weathermen were acting like it was going to hail frogs and blood, we tied a comforter over the car windows and roof last night. 100 feet of clothesline and derision from the clerks at the hardware store (their suggestion? "Get a garage." Assholes.). As precautions were actually taken, of course, nothing happened and we ended up with a large, wet blanket this morning. Part of me wanted smashed windshields everywhere, just so I could have my ant & grasshopper moment.
