Comedy Central's "Balls Policy"

The logic of standards & practices policies continues to elude me.

My favorite was an episode of Who's Line is it Anyway, in which somebody made a reference to not getting any sex on a date, and going home and using his hand. They bleeped the word "hand". I fail to see what they even think they accomplished with that one.

From "Hard out there for a Pimp": a whole lotta bitches jumpin' ship

Guess which word was censored? That's right, naval enthusiasts.

The way that memo reads, it's not Comedy Central's policy, but the policy of an entertainment network that Comedy Central bought advertising time on.

Still lame, though.

obviously, by allowing them to get away with the briliiantly named "fart policy" last year, it has led to a slippery slope of policy making for everything from balls to nuts. lesson learned.

Editor In Charge Of Balls And Fart Policy would make a great business card though.

It does make sense, though. If you're the type of person who wouldn't normally watch South Park because of that sort of content, you'll probably be a little upset to be watching a completely different show (on a completely different network) and be hit with it. I don't agree with the censorship of actual programs - as people watch what they choose to watch and would expect to see certain things going into a certain show - but no one has any control over what commercials or promos they see, so I can understand the concerns.
