Thanks for the compliments, everyone. I'm always a little nervous showing this around, and not just because we went the road less traveled and got serious. The subject matter here was pretty personal--I had just gotten a pretty bad kick in the teeth from my now-ex girlfriend, and so when we sat down to start knocking around ideas for the weekend I saw a chance to put a lot of that on paper. I'm glad the crew I had were as willing to make something a little more subdued.

| That was a lot of fun. In particular, I wanted to compliment you on using the lead's reactions in the reflection during the break-up speech. Also, that's a helluva sunset! |
The idea to do the reflection actually goes to my lead, Steven Chambers. We filmed that scene at the tail end of a 12-hour shooting spree, and as you can tell, the scene required both actors to be emotionally involved. I was going for a two-shot with them standing on a balconey and the sunset in the background, but Steven was so exausted at that point that he didn't feel like he could give the scene his all on camera, and suggested using his reflection and his vocals to get it across. It turned out far better than anything I had been thinking of.
And that sunset was almost like a freak accident. We were looking for a dock, found this house where no one was home, and the sun was just sitting there, right above the water (it was about 40 minutes before sunset). I couldn't have asked for a more perfect look, and I thank my lucky stars for that shot, because we were actually forecast to have rain that afternoon.

| What were the designated conditions for your competition? |
If you're talking about the prop/character/line of dialogue stipulations, they were:
Character: Stan Gibbs, Communicable Disease Specialist
Prop: Big Pink Eraser
Line of dialogue: "You want truth? So do I."
