It's been dominating the message board's banner for some time now and since it doesn't have a pull down window that fucks with your browser I thought I'd thank them by clicking the link and giving their site a shot.
The gist of the site is that they record brief and cursory movie reviews that occur in a coversational kind of format, then animate them. It's sorta fun and they seem like cool enough guys but the threre reviews I watched (Ocean's 13, Knocked Up and Hostel Part 2) were very very superficial and seemed more content to go with easy "Seth Rogen is not attractive" jokes than really give the movie the review it deserves. If having two to three of your friends discuss a movie is the format you'd like your film criticism in, I guess this would work for you, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere. These guys are either going to have to make their reviews a lot funnier or a lot more informative, because they aren't gonna get by on their generic looking flash animation alone.
That's not even getting into their very suspect taste in movies (Knocked Up 3 out of 5 stars? Are you nuts? Are you nuts? Have you been in thinking jail?)
Using their own grading scale, I rate Spill.com as "Rental" (that's 2 out of 5 stars), but teetering on the edge of "Same 'Ole Bullshit".
