Still looks like the Divimax version's the definitive one, though.

I held out on buying Halloween until I found a used copy of The DiviMax release. It was well worth it.

Overpaid for the 2 disc lmtd on ebay some years ago, myself. I don't think this tops the Evil Dead re-re-re-re-re-releases though, does it? I think I have at least 2 versions of each of those.

(I was lucky enough to pick up the limited 2-disc Army of Darkness at MSRP when it was originally released... that used to go for a little money... course mine's no longer sealed).

Oh, look. It's the R2 cover art.
My 25th anniversary edition has it.

I got the non-limited one from about 7 or 8 years ago that has the lenticular jack-o-lantern/Myers cover. It gets the job done, but it doesn't really have much on it. Bear in mind that I had just bought the 20th anniversary VHS set with the TV cut footage. I held off on the 25th anniversary edition or whatever it was because I had already taped that AMC Backstory special off TV and was a little Halloween-ed out at the time. I also heard some rumors that the DiviMax version over compensated on the color restoration or something, washing out a lot of the blues and oranges in the night scenes to become more even and white. Is that true?

I think i'll break down and buy some version when this comes out or before depending on features. As a HUGE horror fan I still have yet to buy any Halloween movie or Evil Dead just becasue of the fact that there is like 14 versions of each.
