WalMart goes Preppie

ABC News reports that WalMart is losing the blue vests.

Now its dress shirts and khakis!

Teeth still optional.

Too bad for them that poor people just aren't making the same money as they used to and can't afford Wal-Mart anymore. So what makes Wal-Mart believe that this would attract higher-income individuals?

This is the part that had me laugh:
Quote:
The iconic blue vests millions of Americans have come to identify with the low-cost retailer will be recycled into materials to help armed forces overseas. Those materials will include lap blankets for the wounded and land cards that soldiers can use to write to their loved ones, said Swanson.
Oh Wal-Mart. You just know how to show your patriotism!

No! Now that Indian girl that works at my local Wal-Mart won't look as hot as she does with the little vest on. Hopefully the polo's will be tight on the hot chicks.

Does Wal-Mart's research show that there is some segment of the population not shopping at Wal-Mart because they find the blue vests too trashy?

The only item I ever bought at Wal-Mart: Mission Impossible 3.

I think that says a lot about my character.

There's only one hot chick at my local Wal-Mart and she has three kids. I imagine her wizard sleeve hangs to her knees now, so I'm probably not interested anyway.

I hope Target takes on the emo-goth look.

Feel free to trash-talk Wal-Mart all you want, but I must admit I love swimming in the cheap DVD bins. When I come up for air I usually have one or two gems, so really, I can't totally hate the place.

As for the vests... eh, so what?
We've all waged war in those bins. There's nothing quite like wading through dozens of copies of BURGLAR and numerous films starring Master P until you finally fish out an AMERICAN PSYCHO: KILLER COLLECTOR'S EDITION.

After some serious digging, I was able to come up with all three RAMBO special editions as well as the three SPAWN: The Animated Series DVDs. Glorious.

I wont have you trashing Wal-Mart, they have a vested interest in supporting the troops.

That's a Matchstick comment if I've ever seen one.
Did Matchsticks wrong you in some past life? Why would you try and sully his good name so?
Maybe you're right. It might be a bit more misfit's speed.

I'd buy that for a dollar!
