I'm hardly a Texan, but thank you. Please take our Lone Star.

On the slightly more microbrew side, check out the St. Arnold Elissa and Live Oak's Big Bark. I was fearing that I was going to give up on good local beer when we moved down here, but fortunately that wasn't the case.

Yeah, I came across it at the local Ralph's. Plus it was on sale, a six pack for five bucks. Helluva deal.

There's a Texas-style BBQ place in DC (Chinatown - go figure) that I go to fairly frequently. Beef Brisket + Collards + Shiner = A heck of a good meal.

If you are ever in the San Antonio area, a visit to Shiner, Texas is in order (to visit the brewery). Well worth the side trip. Heck after that, don't go back to san Antonio. Head over to New Braunfels with a cooler of Shiner and float down the river (please note, if taking the 6-8 hour tour wear plenty of sunscreen and REAPPLY).

Is there a favorite beer thread? If not, someone should start one. I'd love to get different Chewers recommendations on some good microbrews, etc.

It's a staple here in NM, and although it's too sweet for me, I can appreciate it from time to time.
