Sexy FROM BEYOND cover art

Strangely sexy...

I want this yesterday.

Seems kind of weird it doesn't say "Stuart Gordon's From Beyond" or "From Beyond... A film by Stuart Gordon". It makes it seem like he's the star actor of the film.

I really quite dig the cover art(the mouth-skull seems a bit out of place though).

Not that it isn't a nicely creepy image, but what has it got to do with the movie?

Of course, I'd have been happy with a big splash of Barbra Crampton in fetish gear.

When does DVD cover art ever have to do with the movie it's for? Hehehe...

That's what I was hoping for considering the title of this thread. Consider my day officially ruined.

Same here.

That photoshop lens flare is the worst.

I think that art is from a foreign poster or some such. But otherwise, I'm PSYCHED for some Giger-esque sci-fi action starring Stuart Gordon!

Giger-esque artwork is cool and all, but remember the cruel lesson of Dracula 3000.

But "From Beyond" was actually a fairly decent flick, partnering with "Re-Animator" as two of the better gooey 80's horrors flicks.

This DVD cover really has nothing to do with the film, which I don't understand, as there's been quite a demand for this flick from the horror community.

I like this movie, the Dracula 3000 reference was a joke. Jeffrey Combs + Barbara Crampton in leather + Ken Foree = money spent. The "Stuart Gordon" above the title is baffling though. A mention of H.P. Lovecraft would be nice, too.

I knew I'd seen it somewhere.

I'll definitely be picking this up, as I love From Beyond and have been waiting to get it on DVD for some time now, but I don't really care for that cover art. I really don't know what would better represent the movie (though, as some have said, a shot of Babs in that fetish outfit would be a step in the right direction), but there's gotta be something better than what they chose.

The US one-sheet was just an airbrush of Praetorius' knotty head.

The DVD uses the only "original" art associated with the film. I hate the font and that it stars Stuart Gordon, but the art is at least connected to the original release.

And here:

Yeah, I remember the one-sheet, and believe they used it for the video cover as well. I vividly recall Praetorius staring at me from the shelves of the horror section, compelling me to rent the movie just to find out what the hell was going on in that picture. That image might have worked better for the DVD release, but I don't know.

As far as this goes, the image is simple and kind of cool, but I agree with Death Surge; it doesn't really have anything to do with the movie.

I'd much rather have Ms. Crampton on the cover in her dominatrix gear than that cover art, even if it's close to the original art. They should have also Ken Foree in there somewhere. I'm generally not one for photoshopped covers, but I'd like to see that as a cover.

I just figured I'm gonna be freeze-framing so many of those dominatrix-Babs scenes once I get the DVD that there's no need for 'em on the cover.

Looks alright, my only gripe with it, is it doesn't say H. P. Lovecraft's From Beyond.

First thing that came to my mind was a Giger version of...

? Baffling. Makes me reconsider even buying the thing.
