Easiest Way To Get Free 360 Wireless Controllers

Check out http://club.live.com/. Sign up, play insanely easy games (I recommend Flexicon), and in one night you could probably get the 2500 tickets necessary to get a controller. I've heard from those that have done this that it only takes about 1 to 2 weeks to get your prize in the mail. So provided your 360 hasn't died on you and you don't want to drop $50 on a new controller, I thought this might be something y'all might be interested in. As for me, I'm gonna keep being silly and try to get the 35,000 tickets necessary for a 360 (because if I actually spent money and it broke, I would go apeshit and kill Peter Moore) since my attempt to pick up referrals still goes sloooowly.
I don't know about "one night"...Flexicon is pretty easy, but I don't think I could play 100 games of it in a row. But yeah, I've been messing around with the site for a week now and I'm halfway to a controller. A decent time waster.

If you're just looking for points and don't mind tedious busywork, you can wrack up a ton of points on Chicktionary if you use www.anagrammer.com to get all the answers.
Thanks for the link. I love crosswords, but I don't know if I can do that many before I get to pick a prize.

I'll give it shot though, but I go through all that and find out that they don't ship to Canada, I'll be quite disappointed.
Jeez, just 10 games a night for a month and I could get a copy of Vista Ultimate. Not a bad trade.
Playing Clink seems like a better approach than Chicktionary with anagrammar. It can be beaten much faster than Chicktionary, which offsets the fact that you only get 10 points from Clink.

EDIT: Upon playing more, it seems more like a mixed bag. Sometimes it takes quite a while to beat a puzzle, but other times I immediately know every answer and finish in a matter of minutes.

From the 'Help' page:

Note: As indicated in the Terms and Conditions, prizes can only be delivered to a valid physical address in the 50 United States and District of Columbia and cannot be delivered to a P.O. box.
Yeah, I noticed that afterwards. Luckily I live right on the border, and there's a shipping place on the US side I could get it sent to.
The 360 controller isn't on the prize list anymore. I better pick up the pace before the stuff I want vanishes.
Motherfucker. I was only 200 points away, and the controller was the only reason I was even bothering. That pisses me off.
They took the copy of Vista Ultimate off as well, the fuckers. My guess is the 360 will be gone next.
Makes you wonder if they even gave any out before they realized they'd most likely get fucked with lots of us gunning for the decent prizes. Still, it makes me kind of angry knowing it's all just a ploy for them to get search engine hits.

Agreed. I was a bit further off, but still. I suppose I might as well finish this shit off and get Fable(if it's still there by the time I make this post).

Well, shit.
The 360 Controller seems to be back on the list. Which means I threw away my points earlier today on the movie passes and now I'm back to square one.
Hopefully they'll put that copy of Vista Ultimate back on as well.

It actually looks like some of the stuff has changed. I don't remember Live Arcade Unplugged being on before. I'm thinking there's going to be a handful of prizes that rotate as people get them. Would be nice if they'd put that, I dunno, anywhere on the page, or in that confirmation e-mail when you first sign up, or something, but whatever.

Are those Wireless Controllers shipped with the standard store packaging, or a something more scaled-down?

I'm slaving away for an Xbox 360, but I can conceivably get one for 20,000 points if I win 8 Wireless Controllers, then trade them in to a return-friendly B&M like Wal-Mart for store credit.

Or, I can hope for a relatively benign Category 1 hurricane to graze through town. One or two days of overtime would be enough to pay for a new system.

EDIT - Vista Ultimate is back on the list! Assuming its returnable, that would be the way to go.
6 to 8 weeks for the prizes to ship, which is pretty asstastic. You'd think Microsoft could manage delivery times in the same range as Amazon.

Looking at the boards at Cheap Ass Gamer, most people get it in 1-2 weeks.

Is Wal-Mart really return friendly? Because if so, then I'm getting Vista and quitting this noise.

Actually, there's a five-per limit. That being said, at 20,000 pts, why not just pick up a Zune and return that? Even if worse comes to worse, you could still make a tidy sum on Ebay with it.
I won't be able to sleep now, I must gather MORE POINTS!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for pointing this place out.
Sorry to double post, but I'm playing Chicktionary and it keeps giving me the same board. I've gone through hundreds of points in no time. Has this happened to any of you?

I wish. Lucky bastard. I played last week and didn't do too bad but I had to give up. I missed a few including one that ended up being a Hebrew letter. All for 17 points.

If more anecdotal evidence is up your alley, when I purchased Office through my the Microsoft discount thingy through my work they quoted me 8-10 weeks for shipping. It showed up in one week.

ended up going this route and racked up about 700 points in under 2 hours; first half hour was spent actually playing the games until I visited this thread and followed the link to anagrammer.

thank god for macros, they automate everything, and I got 4k points in a night. I have one that speeds up flexicon by not needing a mouse. Vista (then Walmart return policy) here I come.
Considering how many people are using macros, that site is going to be shut down any day now. There are guys over on CAG who have already ordered four copies of Vista in a matter of days.
And how can I take advantage of these macros?

One possible snag is that neither of my top two "return-without-a-receipt" contenders (BJ's and Walmart) actually sell Vista Ultimate in their stores. Wal-Mart does sell it via the website, but I don't know how successful I'll be in returning it to the B&M without a receipt.

I have a bit over 5k points, so I'm within striking distance of that Vista.

Yeah, me too.
There's a mega-thread about this over at Cheap Ass Gamer. Most of the macro talk starts right around page 50.
Also, as of RIGHT NOW, the 5 song downloads in the prize section are listed for zero points. Grab 'em now and hope your order doesn't get cancelled.
Has anyone confirmed that Vista gets sent to you in a retail box? I have a friend who took part in that promotion they did for a free Office '07 package earlier in the year, and he just got sent a code for downloading it.
the macros probably couldn't be posted here in this forum, as it could be seen as warez and what not.

that doesn't stop you from PMing me for me to send them to you and show you how to use them in clear english.

I've heard on other msg boards, that the vista comes in the retail box and mine is one the way so I'll let you know.
I'm up to 2000 points, got there fairly quickly doing the "crosswire" game. It seems that I'm fairly knowledgeable about weird shit that happens to come up in that game. Plus it seems to go quicker than the others. Only 4000 more points to go. YAY!
Looks like they shut down Chicktionary and Crosswire. Technically I think they're still there, only you are limited to 1k points from each max instead of the 7kish previously.
Finally got to order Vista, and cranked up the Crosswire program to quickly get me back up to around 1800 before it ran out of gas. I don't know if I'm willing to slog through to 6000 again, so I may just grab a wireless control next.
Gio, did you get a confirmation email for your Vista order? I still haven't gotten my Vista confirmed, but the email for my five free song downloads showed up in a matter of minutes.

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I also ordered Vista on Saturday and got an e-mail confirmation almost immediately.

I ordered it a bit past midnight on July 4th, and the confirmation was near instant.
Same here. I seem to recall some people on the CAG boards complaining about not getting confirmation emails. Might need to contact them via email to see what's up.
Did anyone else get a blank e-mail from "Points Customer Service?"
Yup.
I got it, too. Smells spammy.
I got the spam as well. I got my confirmation e-mails as well, with estimated shipping times like for next month?! I've ordered Vista and a web cam. I really hope it ships sooner than that (since I move in a month).
So, is there a way to get more than 20 points per game? I maxed out Crosswire for today and Chicktionary is just blah. It doesn't seem to work as fast as Crosswire.

The Flexicon one seems rather confusing to me. Haven't tried it yet.
20 is the max tickets per a game of Crosswire. I have no idea what the max is for Chicktionary because I've yet to complete a game. Flexicon is great if you love crossword puzzles. I don't, so it usually ends up being too time-consuming to really be worth it for me.

I got a 360 controller(I know I'll be getting a 360 some point, and free is free) and the wired headset. The ship date listed in my confirmation emails was August 28th. Hopefully MS is just covering their ass and they'll ship way sooner.

Flexicon is 25.

Sharing the love with my fellow Chewers -

Flexicon Solutions

Just search for the "primary clue" that stretches across the whole puzzle, and it'll give you all the answers. Makes Flexicon almost as fast and easy as Chicktionary with Anagrammer.
Just ordered my 2nd Vista, again with immediate confirmation sent to my Hotmail inbox. I was planning on holding on to the points until after I received my first one, but decided to pull the trigger in case they take it off again.

It was listed as "IN STOCK", so hopefully the shipping times are still between 1-2 weeks.
