Easiest Way To Get Free 360 Wireless Controllers - Page 2

just nabbed vista too. don't know if I have the patience to do this all over again for more vista or game controllers.

anyone in the chud boards actually aiming for the zune or xbox bundle?
I'm going for the 360, but as of right now, aside from only having a little over 10,000 points, I believe the most points you can acquire, if you beat every game, is about 24,000 points. That leaves me at a dilemma. Either I accumulate the 24K points and hope they add new games, or use the points I have now for a Vista and one or two other things. I don't want a Zune, and I don't want to run the risk of spending the points and then finding out that they just added more games. I'm thinking I'll just wait. The Vista's on back-order anyway, so it's not like I would get any time soon, and a lot of stuff on my computer is now compatible with Vista yet.
From what I understand, it's actually impossible to get enough points to buy the 360, even if you play every game to its max cap. The highest people are at like 30k.
Are you guys keeping Vista? If not who's taking them back for store credit? Wal-mart here doesn't stock that version so I'm thinking they wouldn't take it.
I almost certainly won't keep Vista. I do like to PC game, but at the moment it seems Vista is more of a damper on gaming than anything else. Plus I could buy an OEM version for, what, half of what Vista Ultimate retails for? Basic was even cheaper at $90 on Newegg.

So I'll probably try and exchange it at a store for credit. I don't have much hope of that working however, unless I wait for Christmas time to do the return. It might actually be worth doing so, considering Ebay is fetching around $200 (bit under) on what's a $400 MSRP.

Thanks to the OP - I've just got a confirm e-mail for my second order of Vista - I never got one for my first order, but this order went right through...

and I'm planning to keep Vista - I'll need it for when I upgrade my system...

thanks again...

So will you get both copies or did you get screwed out of the first one? I only ask because I'd hate to spend 6000 pts and not get anything in return. It sounds like most people are not having any trouble but I'm curious.

Walmart DOES sell the full version, but it's online only.

Plan A is to take my copy to the local B&M and claim that I don't have the receipt, but it was a gift purchased for me via their website. To be safe, I'll probably print out the product page, in case they try claiming that they don't sell it. If that doesn't work, I have about 4-5 local stores I can hit up, so if it's an arbitrary decision, I just need one of 'em to okay it.

If Plan A fails, Plan B is all but guaranteed. I'll have to wait until the week after Christmas, but I'll be able to exchange w/o a receipt at any Best Buy or Circuit City. I'd hate to have to wait that long, but that's just the worst case scenario.
I've been unable to play any new Crosswire games for close to 3 days now.

I hate playing Chicktionary and the other ones...I NEED POINTS!!
So I finally got enough points to get Vista and got my confirmation instantly. Interesting to see it was listed "in stock" even though I had heard others say they were on back order. My supposed ship date is in September, lord knows I would like to see it before then.
I'm back up to 3,228 tickets, and man, these games are draining me of my very life essence. I think I'm going to take a break now and keel the fuck over...

I wonder how many hits this whole ploy has gotten Microsoft's search engine. Are we making out like bandits, or are they?
Well it IS Micro$oft. I'm betting they are making out and technically we are too. All we've lost is time and have gained some nice products. I'm back up high enough to get another Vista using means I won't mention here, I may get a few lower ticket items though, since a couple of them I could get actual use out of.
I don't know how much it's worth to them, but I think I've given them somewhere between 15k-20k hits.
Ok so I have three items on order and all three sent me an email notification instantly. I guess any troubles they were having are fixed. Oh and Vista's are still in stock, or so it says.
For those of you planning on trading in Vista for store credit towards an Xbox 360, the deal just got even better. Great fucking timing!

X-Box 360 Price Cut
You know, all day I've been reading about how there wont be one since they're doing so well and with possible new chipsets this fall.

But if they do go through with this during E3, Sony just got fucked over again.
Pachter's guesses are hovering around the 50-50 percentile. I don't trust him very much.

I can't see the 360's price dropping, even though it should to really lock up their lead. The extended warranty and repair refunds probably killed any hope of it.
Too bad Vista is now gone from the prize list, at least for now.
It'll be back, Microsoft's need to flood the market with it's new OS will see to that. Besides it came off before and went back up.

67% increase!

http://www.informationweek.com/news/...leID=201000338

I just wonder how the advertisers would feel when they realize it's mostly hits like TENT TEN TAN TAINT.

But Matt, thanks for starting this thread... tried to rep you but I couldn't. Got me a bunch of stuff on the way, and my girl's got a Zune coming. Stupid confirmation emails say they're shipping out in September, but I hear that you shouldn't go by that.
Wow, how much time are you guys putting into this? I can't earn more than 140 points or so before going out of my mind in boredom. I'm generally playing Chicktionary. Does one of the other games give you lots more points or something?

Hey, I e-mailed them last night about my first order and they confirmed it was recieved and I should get my first copy in about eight weeks. yea for me! and congrats on getting your prizes...

I'm hoping they'll offer Office 2007 soon, or maybe I'll try to get a Zune this time... They haven't updated Crosswire yet, I've completed all of them - and that's the only game I could play without totally zoning out - plus it gave decent points....

I'd recommend Crosswire and Flexicon as games to get more points with, gravedigger....

Yeah, updates are seemingly a bit to scarce. Good to hear you are going to get both of yours, that would have sucked to have lost it.

Check out the link I offered earlier in this thread for "Flexicon Solutions". My MO was to run Flexicon on a small window, leaving only the crossword puzzle visible. The answers page on the bottom-right half of the screen, large enough so I would only have to page down once to read all the answers to a given puzzle. On the left side of the screen, I'd watch movies. I got through almost a whole season of Battlestar Galactica while earning enough points for 2 Vistas.

Audiobooks also work well, too. Since the games themselves are mindless typing when you have all the answers, you just need a handsfree means of entertaining yourself.
If any of you receive prizes would you mind letting us know possibly even put a pic or two up? It'd be good to see people actually getting stuff and knowing how long it took, etc..

Also, do any of you know how often they update? If they're not going to do it anytime soon I'll know what I should or shouldn't order. It just seems like they don't really update.
I put in my order for a controller yesterday. Will let everyone know if it ever arrives.

I got an e-mail telling me they had just FedEx'd my copy of Kameo. So...huzzah.
I ordered my 2 Free Movie Passes on 6/26 and they came in on either 7/3 or 7/5.
Anyone else getting old puzzles and 0 points when finishing them?

Another site I go to said it's because of whatever maintenance they are doing on the site. Either that or the ticket servers are down, whatever the hell that means. I'm betting we find out soon.
Thanks. And I did notice while I was trying to play Flexicon they have added some "Enter the following characters" boxes during the gameplay to stop the bots.
Supposedly you need to play using IE now. That might explain your 0 points being awarded.

Communists

Edit: It works with IE Tab for Firefox.

From what I'm told those only affect people using the bots that actually play the game. Those that use the bots that skip the games still work and bypass the type-in codes. Again though, I heard this on the internet and you know that means dick all.

Vista has returned to the prize list...as a nerfed version costing over triple as much as before.

Vista Home Premium for 20,000 points.
And a wonderful 25k for Office.

Got my order for one in on the 9th. Thank goodness.
I'm fucked. Great.

Might as well aim for the Zune than the new crappier Vista.
I just put in my order for a Zune, and I received my email confirmation instantly. Here's hoping I get the actual Zune sometime before the Fall.
How long did it take you to get those points?
I don't play this for a few days and...

and...

oh goddammit.
Thank God I had my two Vista Ultimate orders in the bag. No shipping info yet, but the first one was ordered on the 4th, so I'm not expecting it anytime soon.

I started playing when this thread started, June 22nd.
Hmm, I have zero points. I guess they have some way figure out if people are occasionally using methods other than playing the game directly now.

I've been reading another forum about this and they're still not sure if it's botters or everyone. Some contend they've never botted and been reset, but this is the internet so take that with a grain of salt. I was reset to zero as well. Hoping this doesn't derail the prizes I ordered but not holding my breath either.
I was reset to zero without using any of the programs or whatnot.
Granted, I was cheating my ass off by using the Flexicon answers and the Chicktionary anagrammer thing, but I never ran any outside program for the account that was reset to zero. In fact, I put like 6 hours into just straight-up playing the games with no help. If only the games had been... you know, fun.
So yeah, I'm a bit peeved. I should have cashed that shit in when I had the chance.
I've been reset to 0 as well but I never got the chance to redeem my tickets so I'm rather disappointed.

I had just enough for an 360 Controller. Damn.

Does this mean there's some sort of window for getting tickets and claiming prizes now?
Anybody else get a blank email today from "Points Customer Support <msls-memberservices@incentivelogic.com>"? Incentive Logic, in case someone was wondering, is the company responsible for giving out the prizes.
Strangely, my points were not reset and I did use a bot. It wasn't long enough to get any prizes though, but that's partially because it only worked half the time.
