Take this lead story and shove it...

Well, that's how it should've gone down, instead, we get a weaker version. A female news anchor decides enough is enough with Paris Hilton and declares the Iraq war is a more important story.

I love the shot of her when they cut back from the Hilton footage.

In other news, MSNBC is looking to hire a news anchor to host their morning show.

And, somewhere above, Edward R. Murrow quietly smiles...

I appreciate her stand, but talking about not talking about Paris Hilton is talking about Paris Hilton.
Didn't the AP not talk about Paris Hilton for an afternoon? That worked out well.

My thoughts exactly. While I appreciate her stance on the whole thing, she shouldn't have made such a big deal of her little protest, and just read the Iraq story.

Obviously you can't trust a woman with the important stuff.

She tried to, but Scarborough kept dragging it back up.
Good for her. Scarborough was having a blast needling her about it, though.

G4TV did a "report" on this story last night and most of the staffers on the show thought the whole "not covering a Paris " story was Rigged.

She's had issues with celebrity news before. She clearly doesn't think it belongs on a regular newscast.

I'm getting a weird "What if Ana Gasteyer was fuckable?" vibe from her.

good on her. Every fukn major news outlet agonizes over the most vacant shit, apparently all thats happened in the last few days are this bitch getting freed and the rabid wolverine demonstrating the crippler crossface toohard.

100% agreement here, about time someone admitted that shit isn't news.
Well, you have to admit the Benoit thing is kind of news. It'd not everyday a relatively famous person flips out and kills a couple people.

I was thinking the same thing, since it looked shitty when blown up to desktop size.

Go for it. I don't think I can part with Mr. Locke. He's just too perfect for me.

If you change it, you really should consider leaving all of the area above her in there. The framing of the shot makes it even more funny.

I haven't been able to watch the clip, but my impression is that the point wasn't that the Iraq story just had to trump everything, but that Paris Hilton stories were a waste of everybody's time. And that's a point I wish more newscasters would take the time to make.
Well... she was trying to get back to the Iraq story but Joe wanted to show some video and poke fun at it. Hence the reaction shot seen above.
