The horror!

Quote:
The Spice Girls, who burst on to the music scene with "girl power" and attitude in the 1990s, have reunited for a world tour, their Web site said on Thursday.

"Hey everybody!! We're back!! Can you believe it!!" Ginger, Sporty, Posh, Scary and Baby Spice announced on their Web site.

The Web site said the group had come together for a world tour and provided a link for fans to buy tickets in 11 cities across the world starting on December 7 in Los Angeles.

Eddie Murphy has denied he's been given tickets to the LA show.

Wow, just what the world needed.

Here's their most recent photo:

Me.

and all the good people of the British Isles.

Don't forget, we're all still a part of "Generation Next"

I was thinking about who the demographic for this is. The 'tween girls that made up so much of their audience back in the day are in their mid-20's and I would imagine don't give a damn, other than maybe some for nostalgia's sake. Who's buying the albums/tickets now? Do kids know who they are?

Why do I even wonder about this? I'm hungry. I'm going to get a snack.

"Hey everybody!! We're back!! Can you believe it!!"

Nothing bothers me more than questions ending with an exclamation point.

I stood by them in the " what do you wrongly defend" thread. For reasons I still do not fully comprehend, I'll stand by them here.

Swing it, shake it, move it, make it, indeed.
Since a good chunk have had kids, we can possibly look forward to bigger boobs atleast.
Posh Spice looks like a mannequin.
shouldn't they call themselves Spice Women? or Spice Moms? "girls" doesn't sound too dignified a decade later. Maybe they can be Spice Girls II Women.
I never thought I'd say this but Sporty has aged the best out of all of them. Posh looks like someone stuck a crack whore barbie doll torso into a narrow black vase.

Girl Powa!

Well it works for Hellboy...
Jesus, it just became 1997 all over again.
Now if we can just get Garbage, Republica, Prodigy, and POP-Era U2 together for a big shin-dig we will have a truly magnificent 90's fest in orange, with the word Electronica being bandied about and movies like The Engrish Patient can go ahead and win Best Picture all over again. Where's my Gordita?
Is this really what we want? What we really, really want? I say no.
I'd still nail Geri Halliwell 'til her eyes bled, but yeah, Sporty looks good with the long hair.

Jesus, Posh looks like a gene-spliced mutant offspring of Kate Beckinsale and Bridgette Nielsen.

The other four all look significantly better than their 1997 selves.
I don't know... couldn't they all have cordinated their outfits to include something black? The mommy dress is really standing out.
Those "now" photos are incredible. Posh Spice...Jesus... The only person who could find her attractive now is Andrew McCarthy.
Yes... I was giving fashion advice to the Spice Girls.

Someone shoot me. Make it quick.

Anyone want to guess how many of the people posting "Who would be interested in this? Their fans are in their twenties!" still buy action figures? At least 20%, right?

There are Spice Girls action figures?

Direct me to them! I must have!

And me!

Agreed though, every one of them looks better now. Except her.

I dunno, I think I like the Norbit-Recepticled one better with her au naturale curly hair.

Besides, Posh and maybe Scary Spice, I'd go out on a limb and say they look better (certainly less cartoonish) now than they did back in the day.

I'm with ya. I own both of their albums. As god is my witness, I don't understand why. But I liked them.

Maybe I'll put some on my swap CD just to make someone's head explode.

I think the blonde one is a major cutie. More so now then before.

Wait, do you count Real Dolls? If not, you are so off base.
I'm zig-a-zig-awed at how good they look!
After looking at some old images, I have to conclude that Posh always looked like she was made out of some kind of high-grade industrial plastic. So she really hasn't changed all that much.
I was eleven when they first came out and Posh was definitely one of the first chicks who "did it for me".

Now, she's kinda like The T-X from TERMINATOR 3.

She looks like a mannequin, and poses look like one too. A hot mannequin.

In the "THEN" portion of the photo ElCapitan posted, it looks like they just kind of propped her up against the other girls.
She had this annoying habit of always posing with her head cocked to one side, and never, ever smiling. I was always torn between the urges to fuck her or slap her.
Posh aside, the rest look so great. That dripping noise is the drool from my mouth dropping on the floor.

It's good to hear they're back together. I don't have any of their albums, yet, but I never disliked them. Perhaps I should go rent their movie Spice World.

She also had the flattest voice.

On that same note, I cannot emphasize how surprised and happy I am that somehow, Mel C just zoomed past her in the looks department. Icing on the fact that she's also the group's best singer.
I should add that Victoria didn't do herself or the group any favors in America by insulting Jon Stewart during their Daily Show appearance. She came across as a world-class cunt.

Absolutely. She blew everyone else away.

Why are so many people talking like this is a good thing?
Way to harsh our buzz, Negative Nancy.

Frankly, I'm a little shocked myself. I'm used to being shunned and ridiculed for even tolerating the Spice Girls.

You have to choose now?

Because a lot of us were in the awkward process of maturing when they first hit the scene.
