The best and worst Star Wars figure ever

I'm assembling items for a superhero-themed bedroom for my youngest daughter, so I've been trolling toystores. Today at ToysRUs I saw a SW figure based on the early concept drawings of Chewbacca-- the iteration where he's not particularly hairy and has features a good bit more insectoid. It's a neat-looking thing, but---man. A figure based on a discarded production sketch...

I'll take three!

This thread is worthless without a photo.

I don't know, sounds kind of neat. McQuarrie's concept art for Star Wars is truly timeless.

Didn't he also have a version of the storm troppers with ligthsabers ?

It's good that the Fanboyservice Division of the Star Wars toy line is branching out into something other than Random Cantina Alien #412 as a new figure.
But my cantina was almost complete!

I'm gonna see what kitt022 gets for it.

And then I'm not going to do a damn thing.

I'm holding out for the Luke As A Girl figure.
I should buy it and rip it open and post the video on YouTube.

I'll never make it out of the house alive after that.
He looks a bit like a dufus.

A dufus don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when a crappy action figure is made of them. Conceptual wookiees are known to do that.
He doesn't looked as shocked as he does in the painting.

yeah but someone already took them out of the box! they are useless!
There's a ton of them on Ebay that are still in the original packaging, if that's your thing. There's a Luke Skywalker concept figure that's pretty cool, too.

How far away are we from the release of figures of the crew? Ken Nightingall was a boom operator (albeit uncredited, but that's neither here nor there). When will he be immortalized in 3 and a half inches of plastic?
I got a couple of mint on card English Crewman on Tea Break figures I'll trade for a Stuart Freeborn with Chewbacca Mask Prototype figure.
I'm still waiting for them to release an empty blister pack and market it as "The Force"

With a midichlorian expansion pack!

HahahahahahahahaI'dbuythathahahahahahah
I don't collect toys, but in the rare cases I buy a figure I do take it out of the box. It's a crime not to do so.
I'd rather see all the concept-art made-into-figures figures ever designed by goddamn Doug Chiang
rather than more Ozzel's, Piett's and Needa's.
When I predicted these to someone two years ago, I was joking.
I wish they would actually make this...

I think we have a winner.
That's awesome.

This was the worst Star Wars figure ever. All the other kids laughed at me. A box. With a sticker for a face and clicky legs. *sigh*
post #32 of 84
The prequels have ruined my love of star wars so much i lost all intrest save for vintage ESB branded stuff, but I bow and pray to the alter of McQuarrie and these have me more excited than anything Lucas has spat out in years but of course I am fing broke.
I'll not stand for any power droid dissing. The worst is still the R5-D4 droid with missile launcher!

I'm too lazy to post a pic. Trust me, it stinks.

Howbout a Chewie inaction figure?

Growing up, my favorite figure was always Bossk.

In college (during the re-release), my prized SW figure was the gigantic Hoth Han on Tauntaun.

Least favorite? Not Klaatu, not Barada, not Niktu... the other guy. Ugly skiff guard mofo with the burn-victim face= WeeQuay!

Dunno about dissing WeeQuay, I always loved his left "gimme some money" hand.

That's actually one of my favorite ones.

The winner of any 'worst' competition would have to come from the muscle-bound '90s series.

The McQuarrie concept R2 and 3PO look like fun.

The new VOTC figure of IG-88 is pretty amazing. I counted 20 points of articulation, and this for a character that just stood still in the background for one scene.

"WeeQuay"? Seriously?

If Jackie Lee Rorscach pans out, I'm taking you to the horse track.

As a kid I always thought the worst Star wars figure was the box robot with legs from the Jawa transport. How do you play with that?
How is its value supposed to appreciate if you play with it?

Amanaman?
Ree Yees?

Ree Yees is a such a cool name. I'm suprised they never used him to crossover into the lucrative candy market like ET. C'mon Ree Yees Pee Sees anyone?
